?

Would you want a chat system implied?

  1. Yes, I believe that a chat system would be more convenient and enjoyable.

  2. No, the site is modeled enough after popular social networking sites/We do not need any more change.

    I hate this mentality.
Why do we have these sections if people don't take them seriously? :/

Because no other section gets as much activity as the Spam Zone.

And whose faults that? : P

It's just annoying that we host all these competitions, activities, and stuff yet it's just not used by members because most of the time people don't look past spam zone or playground for activity.
Especially when site related issues and ideas aren't seen by a majority of members...... and then those ideas are posted in the spam zone because no one looked in that section. to begin with...
    Vicious cycle.

What about having a general announcement, stickied to the top of each subforum?
"Hey, yeah, we've got some cool **** going on over here in Graphic art, so come on over and have a look."

If you are in the sub forum to read said sticky then you no longer need to be told what is going on in it, just look around. (and lets be honest, most of you skip past the stickies anyway) The issue is getting people into the other subforums to begin with.

We'd have to announce every single judged as relevant thread in the whole forum posted around the whole forum? Not to mention it's slow and inefficient and with no garuntee people would even look at it.
Would be much easier if people took one minute to check over the forum, no? Especially when spam zone is slow..

Well then there's not much that can be done, so stiffen up that upper lip.

But I like having a loose upper lip. It makes it easier to tickle people with my mustache.

The thread title says "Remember how we were considering a chat system with vBulletin" but all I remember is how this has been on the rejected suggestions list since day 1.

But yeah, my opinion is shared with Misty's and the other staff on this. I did bring up IRC as an option at one point but we decided it wasn't going to work out.

Did you remember that a lot of the shenanigans in the original IRC was created by staff? O:3
