It's Mormon...and it is a branch off religion from Christianity. Why are you posting in Intelligent Discussion when you can't even spell your own religion right or half the sentence? Sorry to get on you, but really...ugh.

I go to a catholic church... but I don't consider myself to be catholic... but I put catholic anyway...

 

I'm a Catholic Christian, I go to church every Sunday, and I do believe in God.

I disagree with your views, but I respect your right to express them.

To all people saying that my comment was "immature": I was just giving my opinion guys... No, it wasn't immature, at all. I wasn't directing it toward anyone, I was trying to offend anyone, I was just telling everyone what I thought about Religion (since the whole thread is about religion ;) ). I don't think people that worship "god" are stupid, I just think religion as a whole is stupid. That, was simply put, (like a jsut said) my opinion.

I only put Mormon because the way that Mormons worship (from what I've heard) is almost totally different from every other Christian.

It is different so you were right to do so, just as Judaism is different from Christianity. Mormons added another book to their teachings which adds in new things after Jesus and Christians do not acknowledge these events as part of the Christian religion. So, it is a separate classification in the end.

That is my problem too. I have to accept the classification of Atheist though at the same time a lot of people don't understand what it means and think of it as a religion too. I recently discovered that saying you are 'non religious' can mean that you are a person that just doesn't go to church. So yeah, Atheist it must be.

 

I'm Christian. Been in it since I was born. Right now I' trying to find out if Christianity is true.

 

I'm atheist/agnostic.

I don't think other religions are stupid, but I do think its a way for people to solve their problems and assure themselves that everything is okay, because theres a guy upstairs looking down upon them.

Sometimes I don't think a God exists though...I think a really good storyteller(s) managed to create something known as "God" to explain events that happened on Earth that couldn't be explained scientifically. There is a philosophical element to religion which I guess is good to believe in.

Im rambling here. Basically my point is that I dont think there is an entity in the sky that can solve all of our problems, because this "entity" may or may not have been created by another human.

It is a religion that promotes peace (like budhissm), but you can worship God(like christianity). Bassically, it's watever you want it to be. You can worship if you want, you can choose not to.

Well my mom raised me as a Christian, but I believe in the whole agnostic thing -- show me some proof of a God and I'll believe.

lol, that's what I used to say when I was Athiest.... but then when I became a Christian I learned that it's not the seeing it's just your faith and your trust but I'm fine with people not believing. (Please no one flame at me XP)

and, well, i hate how "religious people" have given such a bad example of God....

like "youre going to hell!!" that really bothers me,

and , no in my religion we accept anyone , whoever they are, even when they arent religious

we accpt everyone, we love everyone

and those who, dont believe, well thats your decision, and i would still love you, but if you really want to find God, youll have to do more than say "okay , i wanna see a miracle right now"

a miracle? , yes they exist, and they work in very strange ways, and yes ive expirienced, like three "unexplicable" miracles,

i believe , because i see the order and detail of this world, the joy that helping others brings can not be replaced by anything in this world.

I'm sure you remember our good buddy khsuperfan...and how he was bent on believing that agnostic/non-religious was synonymous with Athiest.
People now don't bother to see the difference between not being religious (but being part of a religion) and not believing in gods/God at all.

...Isn't a belief, though? How can you try and find out if it's true or not?

Same here. Right now, any proof I see is in an ancient book or fossils we've dated back to 230 million years ago.
I'll believe that fossils, thanks.

As a random kind of thing, I may want to become Shinto later in life. Just for the sake of living in a shrine or something cool like that. xD
