Implemented Rehaul the censor system.

What word is that?

 

B-a-s-t-a-r-d-i-z-a-t-i-o-n. It means to lower the quality of something or alternatively it twist and pervert it to a certain extent. It's a good concise word with no great synonyms.

 

Was somewhat joking, but I like the idea of changing it to keyblade or kupo.

 

I'm against filters. Censoring looks bad but retains intent. Filters look ridiculous and will, I promise you, grate on someone no matter what words you choose. I'd prefer censors to look more like the hide code than the **********.

 

I don't really care what you do, just don't put in some of those filters. They can be pretty confusing for new members for absolutely no reason. Like KHI has (or had at least) some odd filter word, and back when I first saw it posted around a lot I had no idea what was going on. Filters are silly, censoring is far superior.

 

I have to agree with this actually.

 

Funny how we now use the least popular alternative to asterisks in this thread. Was that the Xenforo default or did someone really think that the word filter didn't look stupid? No offense intended, it's hard to get this idea across without sounding rude, though.

 

Yeah I was only kidding when I said that. I prefer the asterisks.

 

We were mostly just having fun with it, to try out Xenforo's word replacement feature. We agree it looks rather silly.

Anyways it's back to asterisks again.

 

It did briefly cross my mind that that might be the case. Thanks for the update, though.

 

Yeah, I think in the end asterisks are better, plus if I accidently forget to not bypass the censor, on this thing now my edit isn't as the asterisks, it's what the original word was making it even easier to fix!
