I totally disagree with this.No offense DPWolf, but this is one of the worst ideas yet. Deleting those threads and posts would be like deleting KHV history. A LOT of stuff, as you all know, happen in the spam zone. I sometimes have my fun visiting old threads (no matter if they hardly have any posts)

I mean really, I have a really sucky internet but I have no trouble loading the pages. If anyone is having trouble with loading pages, then they should sell their pentium II computer and buy a laptop for all I care. Just don't do this.

Edit: Also, I'd just like to say that it's not our fault some people are incredibly noobish and necro-bump threads. Staff should just be more serious when applying rules.

I think that edit point there was an unfair attack, I for one, as well as CtR do my best here. We can only accomplish so much without staff or member help though Forsaken.

also I see you guys simply saying 'no' but not giving any other input really....why not try coming up with an alternative plan?

I wasn't really attacking anyone Arc, don't worry. It's just that lately I've seen a lot of rules being broken several times a day, some which can be serious sometimes, but I never see anything happen to them. =/

    lol, 'personal attack'.

I'm also with CtR and Forsaken. I often go through old threads and have a mooch around. It's more fun than keeping up with the current events of the spamzone most of the time. xP

My computer's pretty new, and even so, it's being buggy when it comes to KHV. Not only that, but it also slows down my connection to other sites. I don't have issues when KHV isn't in my browser.

Plus, some of us have to work to get money for a laptop, and some of us may not like working with children. Children that beat people up and take their stuff.

As I said before, I think most things from before January should go.
If the size of threads screws things up, shouldn't the size of a particular subforum mess things up too?

    OH GOD NO.

People talk about how great KHV used to be all the time. A lot of that greatness lies within those old threads, and I for one adore looking them up and looking at old memories.

Deleting them, is like deleting a big part of KHV'S history.

And I REALLY don't think deleting a big part of the site's history would make it any more fun. >> The opposite to be quite frank.

Buut, an idea would be if the staff cared to clear out some of the useless threads in spam who no one really enjoyed or got any replies. Like threads with 3 or 4 replys.

Yeah, you could just get rid of the stuff that doesn't matter, so that way both sides are happy. The spam zone gets cleaned out, but the memories are preserved...

I have a suggestion within a suggestion, how about a new section, like Legendary Threads, where we just move all the amazing threads where something big happened and everone remembers(The "History"), it would lighten up the spam zone. I've seen it done on a few different forums before.

Old lame threads should go to the trashy.

That would be biased as not all people have the same opinion of threads and only the few older members left would understand it, making it all pointless.

Only, ONLY? lol it is the spamzone that holds most of those memories, like it or not the spamzone is this site's backbone.

I also had to work to get my laptop, I also have to pay my mom some of my wages each month so that I can have internet connection, thats life, if you want something you work for it. My laptop is not a top of the range one but it is only like a month, 2 months old, my internet connection is lol crappily low, but I still manage alright, as do others. It seems hugely unfair to delete a **** load of threads like this.

Another point, you can't say delete the ones that don't count, because they will count to somepeople. Who decides which ones are more important than others?

As for members reaking the rules, trust me I am well aware of that, and things are going to get a lot stricter around here. I would also like to add that since one of the argument for removing the threads is that if large threads cause DBE's then maybe a large subforum does too? Well lol we stopped and closed the large threads and it didnt' really make that much difference.

We get database errors, a lot of forum sites do, it is one of the many joys of a forum that people just have to leanr to live with. Sure it can be annoying when you can't get on site, but it is never for very long, normally only a few hours tops when it is at its very worst. If people can't find something else to occupy themselves with for a few hours then I find that quite sad D:

I mean no disrespect to anyone when i say this, but I personally think that deleting those threads, and especially deleting so damn many of them (HELLO OVER A YEARS WORTH) is bloody ridiculous.

Live in the future and not the past~ Going over the ******ry of the old days is useless. They arent gonna come back just because you're attached to pieces of data. Plus newbs keep bumping old crap and we dont need threads about all the past trolls to resurface. But if you're really that obsessed about internet memories, you can go back before the move with your time watch and re-experience it all or even read this over and over again.

Alright, well, im closing this, as nothing is going to happen apparently. and I dont want to spam up this place. IF you wish to discuss it more, feel free to do so in the SZ or privately. Either way, I am willing to listen to ideas and share with them. Thanks everyone, and sorry to waste your time/get you riled up.

Deletin' threads in the spam zone.

Now don't jump the gun. Several people have suggested deletin' all the threads in the spam zone from a certain date. That's silly since folk like to look back, but why don't we just delete threads that have no replies? They're useless, n' no one is gonna look back at 'em.

It'd be easy enough to do.

    Aye, naw?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe they could also delete threads that didn't have posts for a long time that only had a few responses. Nobody would notice if those were gone either.

i think that the mods/admins would have to do that manually but other than that it doesn't do any harm

...What's the point honestly? They aren't doing anything there, it's not like they can cause the forum harm by having no replies, only consequence is the starter is sad no one is talking to them , like they'd be much happier having it be deleted, it's not like the forum lags due to alot of threads, there's no crime caused by deserted threads, so there's no reason to get rid of them.

Beat pretty much said everything I would say.

We all have lives and we would have better things to do. I was particually happy when people did the clear up in the past when locking all the old thread, I it was a waste of time. I have the same feeling here.

I really like the idea, b/cuz my sis put a thread up UNDER MY ACCOUNT telling ppl to rep me, and I really want that deleted, b/cuz it embarrasses me, so I actually like the idea...
