Okay, THAT I disagree with. The Creativity Corner holds stories that people can enjoy that have been locked and sitting in the back shelves for reference. I'd actually like to have my pieces read even after they're locked and I leave the forum. Same with Intelligent Discussion and Anything Else. A lot of history for reference (and blackmail) could be useful in the months to come. Plus, it affects the post count. Especially the PYPH threads.

I agree with the Spam Zone. But I don't agree everywhere else. Spam Zone doesn't have an overall affect on the forum. Everything else does.

It's a small sacrifice to speed up loading times and possibly get rid of DBE~

If there's a possibility, then I'm quite content, however, the spam zone should be cleaned out anyway, as it does take time to load... even with my DSL.

You might want to make sure everyone knows about this first. I just created a thread in the Spam Zone just in case as there's not that many people viewing this section at this time of day/night.

Well, they should be deleted, since a few of them ARE over 10k posts ya know? And maybe with a few families if that hasn't been done already, I haven't checked >_<

And yes, you should take it up with other admin's, they may agree ya know, Heck, even Sara might xD

I really disagree with this personally....I know I dont post around here alot but if you do this, what I have done will be gone...I'll be erased from this site entirely and then what? Why would I have a reason to come back at all? And that doesnt go just for me, it goes for alot of others too, as well as the history of this site, you dont want to make this place look emotionless.

I don't have any problem with pages loading and my internet connection sucks D:

    DON'T DELETE THE PAST

    DON'T DELETE THE THREADS

Please, I am majorly against that happening D: but please do not remove the past, that is what made us the members and the site that we are now.

You cannot delete over a years worth of history.

    I'm sorry ._.

Um...everyone realizes that he's ONLY talking about the Spam Zone right?

The rest of the forum is still safe.

As far as I know the database errors do not happen from the size of the forum.
They're probably happening because of an error in the site's codes. I once was a s. mod in a forum (that's now closed), that had some kind of error once in a while. I was friend of the webmaster, and while we were talking in IRC, he told me the errors were caused by a useless line if I remember correctly.

    eh thats debateable really...

errors can result in a wide number of things, large amounts of posts having to be loaded and reloaded thousands of times could theoretically do it, as well as a 'bad' or 'erroneous' line of code.

when writing code, if one line goes bad, the whole thing will go down. if you put a single , instead of a . the whole thing goes down.

I disagree, any problems I've had are intermittant and as far as I've seen DBE's are only come and go. If it was due to the size of the forum they would be happening a lot more frequently.

I agree with CtR on this one, this site has a rich and vivid history that you can't just delete. Especially a years worth of it. Perhaps if there was a copy of the threads somewhere for people to see, if they are to be deleted that is.

It would be like throwing out a photo album to make room for another one, a whole years worth of memories and experiences wiped out >_<

Hmm, well if there were some way to save the content of the threads somewhere else?

Like have some sort of archive people can access when they want to remember something?
