Ignis glances at Nick, "Private Jimmy incident?" he asks.

Mark chuckles and takes the sniper rifle, crouching with it on a low rock ledge and watching the Reds at their base, "damn... that's a Banshee... " He murmurs to himself, then taps his helmet's side, activating the internal radio and then trying to find which channel his team was using.

 

Nick chuckled.
"Long story short, he asked me to take off my helmet one too many times, he ended up with several hundred SMG bullets in his foot."

 

Ignis cringes behind his helmet, "ouch... that's a bit overkill, don't you think?" the mechanic asks.

 

Nick laughed, putting his hand on Ignis's shoulder.
"Buddy, buddy, buddy. There's no such thing as "overkill" in war. Even if it's against your own team." He said, making a gun with his fingers and pointing it at Ignis.
"But if you want to avoid the same fate as little Jimmy, you never EVER ask me to remove the helmet. That's my one and only rule."
The amount of seriousness that instantly entered Nick's tone was...Odd, at best.

 

"Church, have you seen Caboose?" Tucker asked his self-proclaimed 'leader', as he continued to rummage through the stuff.
"I haven't seen him since you sent him to the store for headlight fluid a week ago, and I think he took my guns with him."

"You shot your teammate in the foot?" Sarge asked, confused for a moment, before suddenly seeming a lot happier.
"Excellent work soldier! You're paired with Grif on all future patrols!"

 

Lanna Carson, or Agent Nevada as she preferred to be called, nodded to Arizona's remark. "Director sir, will you be giving us the specifics now or will we get them en route?" It was a question with another meaning. If they were getting the orders en route, the mission was even more urgent, and more difficult than the Director was implying.

 

Nick gave a solute to Sarge.
"Yessir."
He then proceeded into the base.
"Dontcha think it's time we went inside? I'm sure the blues could hear what went on over here with your Banshee, buddy."
Nick marched inside the base, eagerly wanting to meet this "Grif" person that Sarge spoke of.

 

Nevada was a smart girl, it seemed. Unsurprisingly, the Director knew what she was really asking.
"A dropship is waiting to take you to your objective as soon as you are ready. A full briefing will be given en route, as you say." he informed them, before dismissing them.
"Head through the armoury to the landing pad. You can select your weapons on the way, and head out as soon as you're ready. The dropship will be there waiting for you."

"The base? Sure, I'll give you the grande tour." Sarge said, leading the pair of them both inside, showing them what little there was to see.
"Over there we've got a wall. And another one next to that. An entrance, a roof, and a teleporter thingy up there that nobody trusts enough to use. That's about it."

 

Nick clapped his hands together, rubbing them together as he surveyed the small base.
"Simplicity. That's always good. So, Sarge...Where's the rest of the team? I gotta meet Grif if I'm gonna be working him."

 

"Wait, so, You're looking for a person, in a pile of crap?" Church asked, but then again it was Caboose he was looking for. "Eh, not the stupidest thing i've ever heard. So where did you tell him the Headlight fluid store was?"

"m'kay, armory, got it." Said Arizona, giving a mock salute, even though he was speaking to the director through a loudspeaker. He then headed to the Armory, not bothering to wait for the other agents. Nevada had super speed, she'd catch up. On his way through, he grabbed his signature energy sword, and a pistol along with a few clips of extra ammunition. Once he was loaded up, He sat around and waited for the other two.

 

Sarge once again stared at him in the face for a moment, before realising how good a question that was.
"That's a good question." Sarge stated, showing a complete lack of creativity in sentences. "I was just happy to have not seen him all day. Ah well, for the time being you can both help me name the jeep. We just got it delivered by Command, and I can't wait to tune the thing to be a monsterous blue-eating machine!"

"No, idiot, I'm looking for my weapons. I was hoping they were in all this junk, but I think Caboose took them."
He paused for a moment, standing up and looking at Church's last question.
"What do you mean where did I tell him it was? I thought you told him?"

 

A jeep, eh?"
Nick thought for a moment.
"I thought they were called Warthogs..." He thought, a confused look on his face inside his visor.
"What names did ya have in mind, Sarge?"

 

"Son, if I had any idea of what to name it, do you think I'd be asking fresh recruits for their opinions?" Sarge told-- actually he didn't even know their names yet.
"Command called it a Warthog, but by the time I'm done with this thing, it'll be diferent enough that you won't even recognise the bumper!"

 

Pvt. Pools paced the room as he contemplated names.
"Hellhog? Nah, that's cliche. Road runner? Too old-school. Pedo-mobile? No, there's nobody under 14 over there...Damn, why is this so hard!"
He thought he was running out of ideas, but then it hit him.
"I've got it!"

 

The armory huh. Allen or rather Agent Washington thought as he gave the Director a salute before heading towards the armory. Once there he grabbed himself a shotgun, ammo and two frag grenades. That makes two. he thought as he headed over the where Agent Arizona was.

 

A long silence was all Private Pools got in response, and after a good time waiting, Sarge finally spoke up.
"What are you waiting for, a drumroll?" he asked, dripping with sarcasm.

 

Pvt. Pools just sat there for a minute before finally returning to reality.
"Wait, what, huh? Oh, right the name...I forgot."
He said, lowering his head.
"Can't we just call it a jeep and get it over with?"

 

Ignis shakes his head and puts a golden hand on Pool's shoulder, "do you not know anything about war-vehicles? Each and every one has to have it's own name or else all kinds of things go wrong with it."

Mark slid the sniper rifle onto his back, magnetic locks holding it in place. The Blue and green figure walked back over to the standard-issue base. "Hey, guys, what's all the arguing about? And what the hell is 'headlight fluid'?"

 

Neveda gave a silent command to Rho, her AI, to turn on the speed. She blasted through the armoury, grabbing herself a sniper rifle, a couple of knives, a battle rifle and lots of grenades before exiting the other door. Once through, she shut off her superspeed and waited for the other two to arm up. Glancing behind her, she had to pinch herself to keep from laughing. Washington and Arizona were actually looking back to the briefing room, waiting for her.

"Back here boys." She said once she could keep from laughing. "Let's get going."

 

Arizona didn't turn around at the sound of Nevada's voice. instead, he gave a mental command to Iota. "'Sup?"He asked Nevada, leaning on her shoulder. Since an after image was left, She wouldn't even know he'd done it until he spoke. Unless of course she was psychic or something.
