Birth by Sleep Really stupid question

I know this is a really stupid question thats probably been answered 1000 times under every thread on this site but....What exsacly is an Unverse, I know a heartless is a heart consumed by darkness and by an earler thread I found out that Unverse are not someones spirit because a spirit and body make a Nobody. SO WHAT IS AN UNVERSE?

 

It has been revealed that the Unversed are dark beings created by Vanitas. As a human created from the purest, most raw form of darkness, Vanitas had the ability to manipulate the negative thoughts and emotions of people, and spawn them as the Unversed to further his goals, as well as Master Xehanort's goals. By every and all accounts, the Unversed are extensions of Vanitas himself, and part of his power and influence - effectively making him the "first and original Unversed". With Vanitas's destruction, however, the Unversed are completely wiped from existence.

 

An Unversed is the personification of people's negative emotions created by Vanitas, the 'original Unversed'.

 

I'm pretty sure this question's been asked before...but anyway, it seems to have been answered.
