Re: Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

OOC: Not even gonna pretend that I know what's going on with the main l'Cie right now, but I'll bump this thread with a Cyan post at least.

Cyan too followed the directions that the soldier gave them, before Kross apparently took the lead, which she was fairly fine with for the time being.
"I'm ready, let's go." she nodded, as Kross led them down the hallway, seemingly knowing where he was going, or at least having an incline.
When they got the the front desk, and her partner asked about Director Estheim, she quickly covered him, and filled in the blanks of his request.
"A General Argent sent us. We just go straight into the room on the end, right?"
The attendent there nodded silently, and smiled, as was her job, and Cyan took the lead from there, heading towards the large doors at the back, and then through them as they opened onto an equally large room, which was dark, but filled with high-tech-looking stuff.
"Uh, hello?" she said, to anybody within earshot. "We were told to see a Director Hope Estheim. Is he here?"

 

"Lightning. It flashes bright, then fades away. It can't protect. It only destroys."

Lightning had barely relaxed when she realized they had no where to go and the feeling of despair was starting to cloud her mind. "Well...where do we go now?" she mumbled to herself.

"Fear is somthing that consumes you. I must try to overcome my own fears."​

"Light! We should go to Academia. I doubt the Cavalry will launch an attack on us there."

Lightning shook off her despair and eyed Akira, "Academia... Is it safe for l'Cie there?" She watched Akira nod and stared off into the distance where Academia rose into the sky. "Right. We're left with no other choice. I'll take point, Akira, watch the rear!" Lightning barked off orders and started for the largest city of Academia. What would await them there, Light could only hope that it would be shelter and not a military ambush.

Naivete and innocence. Such is the mind of youth

Leo wasn't sure where he was walking to, or even where he was walking from. To be honest, he wasn't even thinking anything at the moment. He was just...walking. The air around him was cold. Somewhere in the distance, he could hear running water. The caverns were dark and, except for the water and his footsteps, silent. There was a strange, musty smell in the air. Though he could barely see, he needed no direction. The young man walked forward, bringing the future to himself. Next to him, someone walked, but Leo could neither see nor hear them; he could only feel their presence.
As he continued to walk, he started to wonder how he got there, where "there" was, and who was with him, but he never acted on his thoughts, he simply continued to walk. Time stood still, or so it seemed. Maybe it just went on forever? He could not figure out how long he had been walking when he finally reached a large cavern. Ahead of him was some kind of underground pond, a waterfall feeding into it from above. Over him, sunlight breached, lighting the cave, but Leo could not see the roof. He continued to walk, heading towards the water, his silent and invisible companion following him. For the first time since he started walking, Leo stopped as he feet reached the water. The l'Cie looked down and saw his reflection. He looked older and worn from battle. His hair...his ponytail was gone and the rest of his hair simply fell over his face. As he reached up to touch his head, he saw the reflection of his companion: Cid.
"NO!!" Leo sprung awake from his dream, covered in sweat. He was being carried by Lightning. He was no longer in a cave. "What..." he looked around, surprised to find himself where he
was. "What...happened?" he sighed the last word, struggling to keep awake.

"As long as I have a want. I have a reason for living. Satisfaction is death."

"What's...?" Cid was flying towards the apex of the tower. He understood why Jenny wanted the Crystal l'Cie to leave the regular l'Cie alone; they were too close to being broken...for good. But there was something in Jenny's voice that worried him, a tone he hadn't heard in a long time. "What's the deal?" He asked his master as he landed on the apex in full crystalline form. As he approached her, his body gave off a blinding light before he reverted to his "human" form.

Kross looked around the room, then up at the floating platform and the figure who jumped from it. He stepped back, startled by his appearance. When Hope introduced himself and stuck a hand out, Kross was the first to grab his hand and shake it, letting go slowly."Director Estheim, I've heard of you."He said good-naturedly. He quietly listened to Hope as he explained the situation of the Crystal L'cie.None of the soldiers, not even Argent told me that I was near a Crystal L'cie battle, they must be getting desperate.. He quietly listened as Hope went on to explain the basics of l'cie, he had heard of stories of the Purge that had happened in long past, it was a children's story to him now, but as Hope offered to turn them into L'cie, Kross had to process this for a moment. He then tensed. "Oh...Oh god.."He murmured, ebony eyes widened, this would be a tough decision to make in such a short time. Glancing to the woman on his right, he gave her a questioning glance. If he accepted this, there was a chance that he could avenge his wife. If he didn't, then life could be hell for him. Taking the high road as he did, he glanced to the Director and gave a small nod."I accept."was his only reply.

Cid watched Jenny pace around Snow's former resting spot with narrowed eyes. Even though he was not a fal'Cie, nor had he lived the life that Jenny had, he lived as a Crystal l'Cie by Jenny's side long enough to have comparable knowledge about the workings of l'Cie, fal'Cie, and things of the sort (he had dubbed this field of knowledge "The Cie"). He bent over and picked up the shard of crystal she had kicked, examining it closely. When she asked who could have done it, he looked up, his face a solid visage of seriousness. "Someone with a glass fetish, maybe?"
As the shard in his hand turned to dust, along with the others, Cid crossed his arm. "So Snow's gone. Who cares? He's a relic, long past his time. Nothing but an old man who looks a fraction of his own age. If he's alive, what could he do? If he's not, then problem solved, " he said, smiling and not exactly grasping the situation.

So... it had been a while since the RPers of KHV had last seen Jaden, and quite frankly... since no one had posted for a while and Jaden needed some screentime anyway, Bushy who had recently left the wonderful cove decided to bring his wallbreaking powers here to introduce the first part of this post for the hell of it.
And now... onto what had been going on with Jaden while everything else posted above happened:
After having been revived by Ifrit's arise... Jaden had attempted to climb back up to the others several times, but simply could not scale the sheer cliff face. Besides, he realised... they likely couldn't wait around with everything that was happening, so by the time he reached there, they'd likely be gone.
He started walking along instead, until he finally reached the end of the scar in the earth that led out to a wider chasm. He met no forms of resistance as he walked, which to be frank, left him a bit bored on the way. Although, he should count himself lucky to be alive.
At any rate, he finally reached a small mining town near the end of the chasm. It was here he decided to stop and rest, and also renew his clothing with what little Gil he had. After all... his body may have been revived fine by the arise magic, but his clothes had been wrecked and bloodied from the earlier struggle. It had actually earned him some weird and concerned looks from the people of the town at first. Either way, to avoid drawing attention to himself, Jaden had covered his l'cie brand with the red bandana that was a keepsake of his mother's. And now decked out in fresh gear, Jaden decided to rest at an inn before moving on.


And... on another note. Bushy decided he'd have to post as Linegia later due to a lack of time right now.

Lightning shifted Leo on her back as he woke up, "You're awake...good. You took on that Crystal l'Cie like the end of the world...a foolish mistake, Leo. I thought Snow and I trained you better than that. Letting your emotions get the better of you. I've told you time and again...don't let your emotions cloud your head." Though she was scolding him, that gentle tone never left her voice. "We're going to Academia...my...memories are old and foggy...I don't know much about it but once we get there...I'm going to look for a place to rest up and some food for you all. After that...well that's my mission. You worry about getting strong again."

 

There was a blip coming from Taejin's Tower on the world map. "Oh great, what's going on there now? Open the live feed at the tower. I want to see what's happening." One of the side screens lit up to show Jenova and her l'Cie all talking about...something. He couldn't make out what they were saying, but with Snow's crystal not there Omega figured that was probably the topic at hand. He quietly chuckled to himself. "Well this wouldn't be the first time someone's just up and left in this situation. I'm not surprised. Although I do worry that he might've taken up my suggestion and go visit the Sea of Eden. He'll need a boat for starters, airships are completely out of the question due to the cloud cover over the sea. But it was while he was in a dream state, so Snow might not remember it." After watching them talk for a few minutes, Omega noticed that he was zoning out. "...I should go check on Shin. Where did he go? First floor to eat?"

 

OOC: I'd love to get back into this RP, but seeing how little I influenced into this RP, my character had little to no development. This is my fault of lack of interaction and costing me a place on this RP. If it goes down too low, I may have to kill off my character since her death wouldn't cause a change in the story or any plot involving her (unless you planned this all along *le gasp*). For now, I'll skirt around the RP and try to find some points to try to raise my interaction in this RP.
