She moved back and forth, trying to avoid the darkness shot at her. She bit her lip, seeing her shots bounce off of him. Damn...they're not going through. He's gotta have a weak point or something. ]She then switched to her Synergist Rolex slowly buffing herself while keeping an eye on Cid.

 

OOC: Twilight wasn't with Ryou, it was Angel, the only non-l'Cie. Just pointing that out.

Angel had watched the fight in worry and was surprised Grey was offering to help Ryou. Swallowing hard, she calmly walked up to them and walking to Ryou's other side, she held out her hand to help him up. She smiled and mouthed to him, 'That was a good fight, you did well.' Turning to Grey, she introduced herself, 'Hello, I am Angel. I may be mute, but I can still fight and can commuate with sign language or ab lipping.' She wasn't sure what to say about the fight, but Angel was glad it ended without anyone seriously getting hurt.

 

"I prefer fighting head-on rather than be controlled by it"

Ryou felt defeat, he felt...perhaps, ticked off he lost and when he offered out a hand, Ryou pushed it aside. "Say that when you decided to just betray us all? Snow's in crystal and you talk of mastering fate like it's a toy." He forced himself back up and picked up his discarded weapons.and hoisted them despite what injures he suffered. "Knock the other I'Cie around?" He laughed a bit and looked at Grey.

"The others are a team, just like Jaden said, Team Oerba who'll fight against all odds, and I believe in what teh team's goal is, you on the other hand."" he turned his head to Grey. "You are just a I'Cie who prefers to do things his way to achevive your goal of 'mastering' fate so you can control whatever happens, I prefer to fight fate head-on than be controlled by it."

Ryou walked a few steps away from Angel and Grey. "So go ahead and try to knock some sense into the others, but like me, they won't go down without a fight." Ryou paused for a moment before getting down ona knee and forced himself back up through sheer force of will. "I...won't give up....on saving those I care about, damn whatever the consequences." He said with determination and continued to walk.

 

Angel ran up beside Ryou and put a Hi-Potion in his hand, she smiled at his determination and waved at Grey before walking with Ryou. After watching what Ryou had gone before, fighting and losing to someone he and the others considered a traitor, Angel was having a hard time to think about what to do, but she wasn't going to leave Ryou alone, despite she wanted to see Twilight again. With a sigh, Angel continued looking for Twilight's titantic Eidolon to find her and the others, with no luck.

 

You're certainly popular today aren't you? the voice commented to Linegia as Lightning's Razor Gale struck the l'cie in the back and dispersed on impact.
Linegia ignored the voice again as she looked towards the boy who had just lost conciousness. "Too bad. He seemed pretty close to making a breakthrough." she shrugged before staring at Lightning and Odin who had wedged herself in between the space between Leo and herself. "And as for you, Lightning. Where does your journey take you? You, who have made a similar journey before. What will you find this time?" she asked, not caring if Lightning understood her question or not. Lin wasn't one for philosophy, but the question had to be asked.
The small girl raised her hand to the sky and called her sword to her, as the giant crystallised black blade appeared in a shower of dark sparks. The girl held the colossal sword in a single hand with ease. She hovered in place in front of the Eidolon and l'cie before her, her eyes still lacking emotion. "In fact... what answers did you find last time for that matter?" she asked again. "You fight and fight for your own reasons as I fight for mine. We fight for different goals and different reasons, and we are fundamentally different ourselves. In appearance and mentality. You don't consider yourself a dog of cocoon or of pulse. You are; Lightning. Even I must say, I do not hate someone like yourself."
Of course, this didn't mean the small girl liked her. The girl didn't really like anyone, excluding Cidolfu and Jenova, and she held a huge hatred for Cocoon.
But... was this a mediocre form of respect for the experienced l'cie before her. Who knew? Not even Lin could be sure. Obviously, it would likely not make a difference to Lightning either way.
She swung her sword down so the tip was pointing directly at Lightning. "What are you going to do now? Fight me? Or take charge of rescuing your beloved students? I won't stop you either way. My goals are for now to ensure the survival of the precious tools that my Master has crafted, and the development of those tools. Even you. Don't consider this as special treatment, but more as a way to make the means meet the end. The choice is yours."

Cyan continued to follow Argent, not really knowing what to say or do else in this situation. All these soldiers made her feel slightly nervous, and knowing that she was powerless to do anything about it only made it worse.
"Listen... 'sir'." she said, not sure what else to refer to the commander as. "I have a question. You mentioned Hope Estheim but... it's not the Hope Estheim, right? I mean, that was five hundred years ago... sorry, stupid question, don't mind me."

Meanwhile, Ren had apparently been abandoned, since Bahamut had seemingly decided that the sky was far more interesting than being a boss.
"Great. My first time doing something significant... and my fight flies out on me." he said, looking around and suddenly realising the trouble they were all in.
"Well that's not good."

Kross quickly followed after the soldier, walking along the hallway. With the awkward silence, as most silence would be, it felt like it would take longer than it actually did. That was until Cyan asked something of their guide. He glanced towards her and blinked."Five hundred years huh? That's quite a long time to be alive."He said. He glanced to the soldier infront of him and smally tilted his head."How far is ship? I mean..how far will it take us? Like, estimate the time, or the location because I have no idea where Hope lives."

 

Angel stopped for a moment and looked to the East, thinking for a moment. A smile appeared on her hand and she grabbed Ryou's hand, she mouthed, 'Ryou, let's go to Academia and wait for the others. It's better than wandering around aimlessly here. I'm sure that Grey won't hurt the others. I trust him on that. So lets go.' She smiled and held his hand in her hands, blushing a little bit. Beginning to walk, Angel headed for Academia, still gently holding Ryou's hand.

Twilight dismissed Alexander and looked around, running toward Ren. She gasped for air and asked, "Where are the others? What happened to Akira?" She last saw her facing against the Eidolon that belonged to her hero, Oerba Yun Fang, but didn't see if she was able to tame, though she guessed that she did.

Ryou's hand was held and he nodded, walkign alongside her, never bothering to move his hand. "The Academia huh....that's said to the capital of humanity nowadays." he said and recalled what his parents taught him. "It was founded by the Academy headed by Rydgea and Bartholomew Esthiem to focus on studying the histories of Gran Pulse and Cocoon to find a different source of power for the people of Cocoon to replace the fal'Cie to not be dependant on them any longer, now it's said to be lead by someone, I don't know who though."

 

'I've never been to Academia before, though I've learned about it when I lived with my family..............' Angel grew quiet when she spoke of her family, she wasn't sure if she could tell them her family anymore considering what they did to her. Though she was grateful to have met Twilight then the other l'Cie, Angel closed her eyes and sighed, continuing to walk with her hand in Ryou's. 'Do you think that Twilight and the others are alright?' She turned to him to ask her question.

'We need to finish this,' decided Cid as he watched Lightning battle Linegia. "Oh, Linny-poo! It's time we wrap this up!" As a ball of ice started to form in his hand, he yelled at Mya, "Hoot...Hoot one last time!!" And sent a flurry of Blizzards towards the young girl.

Hey wait! I'm not done with you yet! When she saw the hail of blizzards coming, she braced herself and tried dodging the stream. It didn't work too well as most of the ice caught her, cutting her clothes and her skin.

 

OOC: Where did everyone go? ._.

 

"Lightning. It flashes bright, then fades away. It can't protect. It only destroys."

Ligtning flicked her eyes towards Leo. "I'm not one to turn tail and run from a challenge, but my apprentices need me more than fate does at this moment." Leaning over Odin's side, she grabbed Leo by the back of his shirt and slung him up into her lap in front of her and rested him against Odin's neck. The moment felt like something she couldn't remember from her past. Was it the memories of Serah? Of carrying around her little sister when they were kids? Or could it be a reminder of Hope... Either way, she refused to let grief overwhelm her and turned Odin around and fled towards her students. ""Twilight, everyone, we're taking our leave! Crystal l'Cie aren't our problem at the moment." she looked down at Leo in her lap.

"Fear is somthing that consumes you. I must try to overcome my own fears."​

Akira directed Bahamut to land near the others and waved to them, "Hey, c'mon! Lets get outta here!"

 

"Argh. This is getting boring." Omega leaned back in the chair and stretched. He looked over at Shin, who was still staring at the picture of Caius. "That's Caius, the last Guardian of the Farseers' Priestess, Paddra Nsu-Yeul. He's essentially immortal since he has the Heart of Chaos beating inside him. That's all you really need to know about him. Oh, and apparently, that sword is this world's version of Ragnarok. Which is weird because...you and Ragnarok and...well you should know." He stood up and stretched some more, giving commands to the computer as he did so. "Keep tabs on the world, as usual. Record any fluctuations in chaos as a possible sighting of Caius, unless it's from the Sea of Eden in which case ignore it."

What's so special about the Sea of Eden? Shin's eyes seemed to ask. Immediately, like he could hear him, Omega responded.

"Everyone who died there's a ghost now. Ghosts are metaphysical projections of the chaos of the dead that can't move on into Valhalla and are trapped here. They seem to only appear in the sea, which makes sense. Variants of the standard Ghost I've seen there include Wraiths, Reapers, Necrophobes, Sorrows, and Furies. Then there's the Drowned, the Wailing Mother, and the Nightmare Child..." Every time he thought about those last three, he always went silent and stared off into the distance. An encounter with either of them had that effect on people. But no human or l'Cie has ever found their way out of once they went in so it really might just be him.

Ummm...are you alright? Shinryu waved a hand in front of Omega's face. An awkward silence came into the room. Okaaay. I guess I'll go find something to eat now, so yeah...

"I want to take you there someday. All of you." Omega seemed to regain himself a bit. "Not a single person in the world knows what happened anymore except for us. Not the Academy, not Caius, not even Yeul. The Yeul of the time died instantly when time crashed, actually. And Caius? He wasn't born yet." Tears began to stream down his face, but no part of his body or voice made any indication that he was crying. It was like watching a mannequin cry: emotionless and very disturbing. "Go there. Experience it yourself. Let the time-stilled waves settle down in whatever heart you people have. Watch the memories of everyone who died there eternally play back. It's saddening. Frightening. Horrifying. Yet, you can't help but watch and empathize, because they make us empathize."

Shinryu stared at Omega for a bit before backing out slowly into the stairway and going down to the first floor of the citadel.

Kross could only follow the soldier's lead as he took them into Academia, it was a decent sized city and his eyes focused on the largest building. "Director Hope Estheim huh.."He said, remembering having heard the name several times in his line of work, at first he didn't interest himself much in the individual but this time, it could determine whether they lived..or not. As the man left them, he glanced over to Cyan and nodded."I'm ready to go if you are."He said, walking forward, down the hall. The circular desk drew closer, he swallowed, becoming increasingly tense with each step. He entered and paused."Director Hope..Estheim?"

 

Twilight nodded and ran to Lighting, Odin, and Leo. For some reason, she thought of Angel and wondered how she was doing. Looking at Linegia and Cid, Twilight made a fist and ran with the others to escape. Placing the Dragoon Lance on her back, Twilight sighed and looked at Snow's bandanna on her arm, but shook her head, not wanting to think about him.

Alice was also in the Tower with her master and kept quiet, something unusually for the hyper Crystal l'Cie. She was curious as to know who freed Snow and why. Not really wanting to care about that or say something to upset her master anymore, Alice went to a area where she took a nap and dreamed of having a tea party with the Mad Hatter and March Hare.
