Grabbing both sides of her dress, Alice smiled, closed her eyes and gave a custry to her master,"Understood, Jenova. I'll be leave you to continue planning." Flipping her wings, Alice flew to a tree and sat on a tree, she sighed she couldn't bring any of the l'Cie to the tea party.



Twilight smirked, "Alexander, Gestalt mode!" A series of pillars appeared as Alexander became a center piece that connected the pillars, becoming a fortess with a balcony for Twilight. Getting on, Twilight glared at the Calvary who didn't look afraid at the fortess.

Kross blinked, he was being taken to the General? But why? He had done nothing wrong! This wasn't good though, he was forced to comply to keep himself from being blown to pieces or shot. He frowned, following the soldier at a decent pace. He was hesitant about this, what if they threw him in prison?

 

"Lightning. It flashes bright, then fades away. It can't protect. It only destroys."

Lightning nodded, giving Akira some room and turned her attention on deflecting any Calvary soldiers away from Akira and the rampant Bahamut. She could almost hear Fang's voice in her head.

"Fear is somthing that consumes you. I must try to overcome my own fears."​

Akira slashed her gunblade across Bahamut's legs, jumping backwards as it lifted a clawed foot and slammed down, trying to squish her. Bahamut scored four long lines with his claws across the ground twice and whipped up a Whirlwind, flinging Akira into the air. Hanging onto her gunblade, Akira flew into the air, gritting her teeth and shutting her eyes against the wind. When the wind finally released, Akira free fell to the ground, almost... Bahamut charged non-elemental magic between his hands and clashed them together, smushing Akira in an Umbral Vise. Falling to the ground, Akira held her arm in pain. "That...hurt..."

 

Mya stood close by to Akira, healing her through constant pulses. You can do it Akira! Don't let it overpower you! She then switched to her Synergist role and buffed her with Haste and Barrier.

 

"I prefer fighting fate head-on rather than be controlled by it."

Ryou and his companion ANgel were still following the beaten road, occasionally, fightign a few of the resident monsters, one's that weren't insanely strong nor weak, Ryou saw it as a practice to adapt more to his new 'toys' but he knew he still had hsi I'Cie clock still ticking, what was the next place of desination, oh how he wished he could return and fight alongside the others.

 

Angel followed Ryou, minding her business as they walked. She looked around at the surroundings, Angel was looking for the titanic Eidolon, Alexander, that would mean Mia, or rather Twilight, would be around. Since she had witnessed its summoning and taming, Angel chose to that as a way to find the others. With a sigh, Angel looked toward the road, not seeing what she hoped to find.

Kross silently observed his surroundings, seeing some soldiers rush off to do god-knows-what. He breathed in sharply as they ushered him towards the bridge. He saw others, one boy and another young man. He saw other soldiers too and bit his lower lip, trying to tug out of his captor's grip, gritting his teeth. "Let me go!" He shouted. "I've done nothing to warrant your arrest!"

 

Naivete and innocence. Such is the mind of youth.


A guttural growl escaped Leo's throat as his tears increased. With Linegia in front of him, his strength started coming back...or was his anger simply overriding his pain? It was strange; despite all of the negative emotions and his tears pouring out caused by his failure to protect his friends and even his own thoughts telling him to protect them, the one thing he wanted most was to defeat, no, utterly destroy the Crystal l'Cie...and despite all the magic power roaring inside of him, wanting to be used to help his friends, he just wanted to set Jenova, Cid, Omega, and Linegia on fire...and there was a part of him that thought the same about Lightning, and even Snow..."Now what?" He repeated as he pulled back the hammer, causing the horns to raise. "I'll tell you..." And then he pulled the trigger and Belias' horns erupted in a torrent of fire.
"NOW I'LL TEAR YOU TO PIECES FOR RUINING MY LIFE, BITCH!"

Cid stopped. His body glistened in the sun, but it didn't move. His laughter ceased abruptly. What was this feeling? Something...something not yet there? He never felt this before. Was it a feeling of something to come? Why...why now?

The armory. It was a large hall covered in nearly every form of weaponry that Omega had collected in his life. They ranged from the standard, one-handed sword to the bizarre bells used by geomancers. The room itself had one of the highest security levels in the entire citadel and couldn't be entered from the Void...well, most of the time. While putting away the Masamune and the Blood Sword, Omega saw that there was an empty space on the wall. Excalipoor was missing. "Dammit, Gilgamesh got in here again. I'm surprised he didn't take anything else. Bastard nonetheless." He inspected every weapon there to see if there was anything else that was either missing or moved. Then he came across the gunblade that was named after him. "I remember this. It was a gift from an old friend..."

"Thanks again. Sorry I haven't used it much since I got it. That'll change starting now." With his new blade holstered on his hip, he walked up to the sixth floor. This floor was used primarily for gathering intelligence and surveillance on the planet. Other than the armory, this was one of the few places where someone could expect to find him in citadel. "Locate the l'Cie. I want to see what they're up to and how they're coping with the town gone." The main holographic screen lit up and showed the group of l'Cie on the run, some falling into a bit of despair from the recent events. On a smaller side screen, he saw that Shinryu was still in the front hall and spoke to him through the audio system. "Shin, you can't go around wearing torn-up garments like those forever. Change into something different, would you? You can find a closet on the second floor. Third door to your left."

Shin walked down the western hallway of the second floor. Third door to my left...third door to my- What. It was a closet alright...a closet that was the size of the armory. It was insane. Nearly every style and article of clothing imaginable could be found here, no doubt collected over the countless years. So unlike Omega. It probably wasn't his room anyway. Maybe. Well, this is gonna take a while. Okay. Where to start?

Lightning and Odin cut down a line of soldiers and turned towards Leo facing the Crystal l'Cie. "Leo! Leo MOVE!" She shot the spell Ultima towards Linegia, if only Leo would move out of the way.

Akira, with her buffs from Mya, tore at Bahamut with Aquastrike, tossing in a Blizzard every now and then. Scoring the ground around her, Bahamut's Dragon Claws pulled his head down to the ground and closer to Akira's Froststrike banging against his head. "Will. You. Just. DIE!?" Flames licked around Bahamut's mouth as he spewed out an Inferno, scorching Akira's clothes and skin. Determination and anger burned in Akira's brown eyes, "I'm not afraid of you anymore!" Scrambling up Bahamut's leg and onto his back, she twirled her gunblade, "You're finished." Stabbing the point of her blade into Bahamut's armored neck. Bahamut roared and flew up with Akira on his back, taking her beyond the clouds.

 

Naivete and innocence. Such is the mind of youth.


Leo could hear Lightning, but it was hard to move with Linegia on the horns of his Eidolon...but that gave him an idea. "I'll kill you first!" He yelled at Linegia as the blades around her grew. Leo quickly used his left hand to activate the front brakes on his vehicle, but only for an instant, as he turned to the left. The momentum caused him to do a 180, though he was still traveling in the same direction he had been (now moving backwards). The anger inside of him was unbelievable -the only thing surpassing it was the pain he was feeling- as leaned forward and turned his left hand into a fist. "Bonecrusher!" He yelled the ability as he thrust his fist towards Linegia's stomach. With Lightning's Ultima attacking from behind, Leo's Bonecrusher (powered by the fact that his body was ready to give out at any moment) from the right, and the flames from Belias' horns surrounding her, Leo hoped that Linegia would go down.

Kross paused when a person spoke up. He frowned and glanced away from the man. Of course he wasn't from Academia. If he was captain and leader of this Cavalry..that meant.. He looked up, he only knew the person by name, given his experience administering the creation of weapons for the cavalry. It was where he had met his wife. He frowned at the man's next question. "I was gathering Pulse Lilies to take to my wife's grave."He said in a sort of cracked, angry voice."I know you, General Argent, your reputation proceeds you."He bit his lip, choosing not to reciprocate him by giving his name, he did not trust this man.

 

Linegia quizzically looked at Leo as he yelled nonsense at her. She didn't even blink from the blinding hot flames surrounding her. Ultima was coming for her from behind... Lightning had obviously been hoping that Leo would have the sense to move, but it seemed she was mistaken. It was obvious that Leo's desperate attack was also relying on Lightning's Ultima attack.
Foolish.
Lin, caught Leo's fist with a single hand, and although with the body of a small child, she shielded him from Lightning's Ultima with her body. After all, she had to protect these precious tools, and thankfully for her, her body was of course resistant to magic which meant that Ultima didn't harm her in the slightest. Lightning was indeed powerful, but Lin had already shrugged off Omega's powerful magic assaults earlier, and Lightning certainly didn't compare to Omega.
She stared into Leo's eyes with her own emotionless pair. "Ruined your life?" she asked him. "You don't know the meaning of what it is to have your life ruined. In fact... one could say you're lucky you even got to have a life. The chance to grow up to your current age like someone normal. Not everyone gets to have that chance." she spoke surprisingly calmly, again, no emotion in her voice while she continued to ignore the flames surging around her as she gripped Leo's fist tighter and then flung him into the air, following after him with speed. She continued to speak as they ascended. "Listen, boy. There is no such thing as fortune in this world, no such thing as love and no such thing as mercy. If you want to survive and take back the life you had; then..." she grabbed him suddenly and threw him back down to earth, causing him to crash right into the top of Belias, where he had been moments before. She then hovered barely in front of Belias, her wings extended and her arms folded. "You need strength. You're far too weak right now. So become stronger..." she cast her own version of Ultima at him, albeit, making it weaker so it wouldn't do too much harm, and it would further more add to the child's frustrations that she was taking it easy on him. "If you want to kill me, then become stronger. If you want to save your friends..." she clicked her fingers and cast Flare at Lightning and her student's positions just to make sure that Lightning would be too preoccupied to disturb them. Not that it mattered. Lin could deal with Lightning if she really needed to, but this made things easier. "Become stronger, and if you want to fight your fate... Then become stronger."
She stopped herself short of Belias and extended her palm out, using her superior strength to stop the Eidolon's forward charge in it's tracks. "Come on, Leo Zealot... Let's see what you can do. You've piqued my interest." she put some power into her hand and gave a small shove, causing Belias to skid back a few paces and put some distance between the two of them. "Show me your resolve as you try to grasp the strength you need to make a difference."

Ryou took notice of a man in the distance whose path was intersected with his and Angel's. "Maybe he might have directions?" He thought to himself but as they were getting closers, Ryou's eyes soon narrowed, it was Grey, the one who betreyed them all and joined the Crystal I'Cie and he let his hand rest in on the hilt of his sword under the cloak, he said he was going to master fate.

"Whatever you do... Don't try and get invovled, he's a I'Cie." He mouthed to Angel and he noticed Grey drawing hsi blade, he must of obivously noticed his appearance despite the clothes and ahir change and when they got closer, Ryou drawn out his sword in response, to be honest, he didn't know if he could fight Grey in a equal battle, he always kept to himself when training and spoke clearly. "What are you doing here Grey?" He asked him rather calmly, but inside was a inner battle to attack Grey for betreying the others and leaving with Cid or listen to reason, luckily, Lightning's tecahings that were drilled into his thick skull were winning that internal struggle, if not, barely.

 

Angel nodded at Ryou, feeling uneasiness between him and this Grey person. She kept quiet, walking with Ryou as they approached him. Though she didn't know what happened between them, Angel could guess it wasn't good for Ryou wanting to fight him. She slowly backed up and tried to find a place where she could watch them fight without herself getting hurt, Angel looked at Ryou in worry. Though he was strong, Angel pondered if he was really strong enough to fight against another l'Cie, at least she was glad this opponent was approached calmly, unlike with the childlike Crystal l'Cie, Alice.

Kross glared a little bit at the man's words. He could tell it was dripping with sarcasm. He still didn't believe him. He glared a little, his eyes narrowing suspiciously."I bet you were the ones that took out Oerba."He spat hatefully. "And of course I still have ties to Gran Pulse, You should know that better than anyone, wouldn't you, leader. I don't have you to thank for anything, things are worse now than ever."He said. His grimace deepened at the man's offer. But something told him he had to accept it, maybe it would help him redeem himself for his wife. He clenched his fists and glanced to the side. "..Okay."
