Chain of Memories RE:CoM Help!!!

awright i'm in need of some help in Re:CoM with the 4th battle against Riku in Sora's story. I get totally creamed by him.
So if anyone has done him some suggestions on how to defeat him will be much appreciated. :D

In the fights that i had with him i only used cards that were 9, 8, 7 & 0. Had loads of keyblades, cure cards, used Vexen's card & other types of green cards. But he's just so damn hard.

I'm having the same problem.

He was easy on the GBA version & in the other 3 earlier fights. In this one i only managed to get 3 life bars outta him. He's so darn quick.
Maybe i shouldn't have played it on hard. :p
The move that really helped was a sliding move that you have to press triangle, that really did the job. :D

 

Kitty, I've found that just attacking normally doesn't seem to get me anywhere in the later boss battles =/ So I just spammed the triangle button to used Sleights continually, reloaded my deck, and that's how I won. I don't even think I put 0 cards in my deck to card break. Sorry if that's not much help, but that's my strategy XD

 

I'll try that, but can you tell me what level you were & the amount of CP you had. :D

Edit: My usually strategy for bosses is to play it defensively & card break whenever i can. A few hits n' then run the card break again. This has worked great for me, no problems at all so far. Although i can't seem to be able to do it with Riku this time round.

EDIT: awright i did it. thanks a tonne Lithium, i did it your way n' it worked. :D although i did cut it a bit close.

 

note to self: build kick-*** deck before taking on any major bosses in Re:COM.
just looking at the boss battles for Re:COM makes me think square went overboard. too hard. if im having trouble on the GBA im screwed in Re:COM:(

 

Their not really hard. I think Riku is the hardest. But it does help to have some good cards.

 

Did you use the cloud strat? its possably the easiest way to get through the game.

 

I didn't have enough Cloud cards, so i just spammed the triangle button, got me through it. It was funny, we were both down to only a few cards in the end. :D

 

i abuse that card.
