I find myself somewhat conflicted with this news. Yes it's good that more people will get to play it, but why does the Wii U version (which was to be released in just a couple of weeks) have to be delayed til September as well? :(
I think we all know why this went down. The Wii U didn't get anywhere close to its expected sales. There's no way someone like ubisoft could make their money back on a single console with the sales numbers of the Wii U, considering not everyone with a Wii U is going to buy this. But good mark for Ubisoft to expand on the game in the meantime. kudos
At the same time, somebody's got to be willing to gamble a bit in the beginning. Console exclusives make consoles more enticing. I don't blame Ubi for making the smart play, but... I mean, if everyone makes the smart play, Wii U continues to be a dull console with sub-par sales. Oh well, at least Platinum's not afraid to test those waters. As far as Rayman, I've always kind of admired it from afar. I played one waaaay back in the day and loved what I played, but never really got into it. Then it just kinda disappeared under the Rabbid banner for a while. I dunno, I might give this a shot. I'm desperately looking for an excuse to buy a Wii U anyway, as soon as I scrounge up the cash.
I've seen some gameplay of it on the 360 and it looks lovely and work well, but ideally it looks like it was primarily designed with touchscreens in mind, so if you can, get the WiiU version or get the PSVita version. That's all my input, apart from it looks fabulous and a real Mario challenger.
