Aleksander Lockhart is the only acceptable name.

    The rest are all "meh."

I could give some suggestions. What's the context for the names?

Oh jeez, be careful what you ask for. All right, gimme a sec, I'll prop this shit up...

Aleksander - Protag. Sweet kid, little possessive though. Grew up with no father, so he's a bit of a mama's boy. Needs a dignified-sounding name with a girly nickname, like Allie, preferably with Anglo-Scandinavian background. Major themes are heart, duality (esp. light & dark, love & hate), friendship, potential, anti-war. Basically looks like Allen Walker with less scars & hair spikes. (I haven't developed it any further yet, so sue me.)
Walther - Protag's big brother. Trying to fill the gap their dad left behind. Little colder, little more stoic, little less emotional; but otherwise picture a bigger, more bara version of Aleks, with slightly longer hair. Either Scandinavian or Romani name. Themes are family, responsibility, protection, rivalry.
Lockhart - Pretty dead set on keeping this one, since it fits both brothers in different ways. They never lose their game face in front of friends if they can help it. More literal meaning for Aleks - he can actually create physical pathways into people's hearts and explore them. I CAME UP WITH THIS BEFORE KH3D WAS RELEASED IMAGINE HOW BAD IT FUCKED WITH MY HEAD

Zoe Grivas - 2nd love interest. Basically picture Korra crossed with Saxima, then add energy claws, a foul temper, and an acute fear of snakes. Probably keeping this name, I really like it. Grivas roughly means "gray horse" which fits her for reasons... and I'm just sentimental about the name Zoe.

Chandler - Younger of two brothers, maybe mid-thirties. Mentor and father figure to Aleks. Kind, gentle, tactful, but pretty naïve, spends a lot of time with his head in the clouds. Need an English name, something that sounds elegant, the kind of name a young lady would like to take her to dinner.
Pearce - Chandler's older brother, mid-forties. Complete hardass, brilliant strategist, spends all his time on patrols or barking orders at people. Hates his (dead) dad, loves his brother; has a funny way of showing both. Crippling illness that deteriorates his mind and also makes him look like a constipated 60-year-old. Any old English name will do, as long as it means "rock" or "stone," or something rigid like that. Used to be Flint.
Bryant - Just came up with it, no real lingering attachment. Need something steadfast, a proud noble family name. Was going with variations of Leonard before now, but I decided that was too blatant.

Darcy Nielsen - Delinquent from Allie and Wally's home. Big guy, rough-houser by trade. Has a wicked smile he just loves to show off. He and his posse sign up with the antag real quick. I really like Darcy, but I'm not too attached to Nielsen. Don't want anything too blunt (like Boris or Dan), but it should sound strong. English or Scandinavian would be good.

Mars Rosencrantz - The most conniving, manipulative, self-serving, smug son of a bitch you've ever met in ten lives, and no other name will suit him. I mean look at it. It just screams "Don't trust this fucking snake."

Damaskenos - Immortal warrior from an ancient civilization. Gonna have to fight me to find a better name than this; it's loud, it's dramatic, it's the kind of name you shout when you're about to take on a hundred men at once and win.

Lady Aaliyah - Antagonist. Equal parts psychotic and charismatic. Commands the DARK FORCEZ, and converts a few of Aleks's friends to boot. Been back and forth on this one; need something antiquated and exotic, but none of 'em feel quite right so far. Aaliyah is an old prototype, thought I'd wheel it out again, see if it took. I've also considered Ambrose, or Ambrosia. (Doesn't have to be a proper name, strictly speaking, since it's .) Considered a ton of different ethnicities: Greek, Scandinavian, Arabic. Themes are dark & light, longevity, godhood, serpents.

Aleksander is too "trying to be different" for me.

Chandler is too goofy sounding. Also, candlemaker, why?

Mars Rosencrantz sounds like the foppish good guy to me.

Darcy is a pansy ass name.

Damaskenos, you should probably just make up a gibberish name. Go more obscure for a western audience than Greek at least.

...I meant like a context of the setting for the story, y'know: fantasy or sci-fi or what-have-you, but this works too.

Aleksander does sound too try-hard to me as well, tough Aleks is ok. Maybe something like Alrik ("all-rick")

Walther doesn't roll off the tongue well to me. Just make it Walter, or Walts?

    Zoe is fine.

    Chandler sounds meh.

    Pearce is ok.

Bryant is meh. If you're not using titles, how about Duke?

Darcy actually is neat for the big guy character.

    Mars Rosencratz. Yes.

Damaskenos...make it a little shorter. Darmaks? Dalmaskon? I dunno.

    Aaliyah...its ok I guess.

I was gonna go with Alexander but that's too fucking Anglican

    These characters are not Anglican

They're like sans-Christ Europe like imagine if Yggdrasil was a real place you could visit and everyone just kinda went "Nerts to this YHVH guy"

(Bear in mind their full names will probably be used like once over the course of several years' worth of plot, he will go by Al or Aleks or Allie most of the time)

Kind of a joke of mine, since he makes Aleks a Lightbearer

    Well you're wrong

    YOU'RE A PANSY ASS NAME :<

Everyone else has semi-modern names his is supposed to sound old and campy

High fantasy, kinda pre-modern but a lot of higher-level technology is replaced with some arcane equivalent. Because, y'know, it's real here, and it's way more convenient to warp between tall buildings as a puff of smoke than mess around with that automobile or whatever it's called. The setting is based on a messy gestalt of Greek, Old Norse, and miscellaneous European influences. I'll start to focus it down as I work through the details, but I always start with characters and build my world from there. It's just how I work.

Too Germanic. And yeah like I said almost all the kids will go by nicknames, so.

He will probably be called Walt or Wally for most of the story, if that makes it better

    Damn right she fine *brick'd*

So no one's jazzed about Chandler

Yeah I expected that, kinda flat now that I've had time to think on it

Well, they're both generals. Their old home got torn apart by a war or two, and they never really matured to the point that they got a formal title. Now they've got the survivors under an indefinite martial law kinda deal. The surname should definitely sound like something you'd expect to hear prefixed with "duke," but I don't think there will be an opportunity to give them a title like that.

Does Pearce or Flint sound better? Flint just makes me think of the Pokemon character so I can't accurately judge sdfjsdgsdh

Oh and I forgot his dad had him with a mistress if that influences your opinion

Thank you omg glad somebody shares my taste

Big guys don't have to have butch names you prejudiced fuckers

    Yes.

Oh, forgot to mention: Since his prototype form was loosely based on Marluxia, just imagine that face and that hair with that name. What a bastard.

He's not a hugely important character, it probably won't come up often

He's just kind of a 2nd-string villain who shows up a lot 'cause... well, immortal :L

    This woman is the scourge of the continent her name needs to be more than ok ;_;

    Kinda like that yeah

Not Flint. Flint makes me hard lose interest in the character because...rocks and stuff. Except Brock works cause that hard "B" sound to go with the "k" at the end.

Bastards often have the most personality. I like what I'm hearing.

Alright, then how about Aziyal or Avaliyah.
