Bio: Ash was abandoned by his parents at a young age and teased in every orphanage they put him in because of his white hair. Though he considered it a silly reason to keep moving around, they insisted. Ash grew impaitent and tired of being told opposite things to do by two different women in the orphanage. In his frustration he burnt down the orphanage, killing everyone inside. He was left standing at a murder sight when Royal came and put him in the Magic Acadamy. Within those walls, he forgot himself and what he'd done. He wrote on a piece of paper day after day, "I will please someone." Who that someone was, he couldn't possibly know. Even now, the meaning of the piece of paper has escaped him but still it sits in his pocket.
Personality: Ash was soft-spoken at times and still had a cheerful outlook on life. The best emotion he can display now is slight curiosity.

The Rites Exam​

The cold, crisp air rushed against the slightly tanned face of Roxy Belmont, master of the Reaper Cell. She shivered slightly, but it was due to excitement more so than being from the cold. She made sure the zipper to her loose fitting, white jacket was all the way up before carrying on. Upon reaching a flat area of the snow covered mountains she stopped to look over her shoulder. Following behind her was her Cell, made up of the Fledgling Reapers she's grown to know and love for about ten years now.

Today they were going to have the chance to prove themselves. Today they were either going to become full-fledged Reapers, or go back to the academy where they'll remain for another year with a different Cell. She couldn't have that happen, it'd be like losing her child all over again. But she couldn't exactly make this easy for them – for their own good as well as her's.

She turned away and gazed over the mountains, a beautiful scene stretching far out before her. Today shall be an interesting day...



Leading the Cell from the Magic Academy was a seemingly young female dressed in a black jacket and cargo pants, as her normal clothing was simply not good enough for this cold weather – Roxy's contrasting partner, Kira. Her dark hair was mixed with bleached strands that reflected all and any light. It normally was keep nice, but due to the strong breeze it was all messy. Let's just hope this is as bad as it gets today...She thought, concern for both Cells weighing heavily on her mind.

They were running a little behind schedule, but knowing Roxy they weren't the only ones. She stopped to make sure the other Scythes were all close behind. She knew none of them past their files which she had been given the day before this, their partners all already chosen. It was tradition, one which she did not agree with, but couldn't change. "Is everyone alright? We're almost there, just a little climbing left." She said, her soft, melodic voice being nearly lost in the wind.

"This sucks!" Leo whined.He pulled his hair over his ears to make them warm."I hate walking.Especially in this cold wind"He complained.But inside he wasn't really concerned about the weather,it was the exam that made him grouchy.

 

Ash silently followed their Cell leader. He logically had the entire Exam planned out. Anything else was chance. "It's cold out here..." he lamely commented. Though he couldn't even begin to care. Tightening his black coat around him he looked out across the mountains. His pale white eyes scanning the tops of the snow covered mountains before closeing against a burst of cold wind against his face, blowing all his white hair back from his forehead. He'd feel irritated if he could. Feeling the wind burning his cheeks he huddled closer to his Cell leader. "Are we almost there?" he asked blankly.

 

A sneezed escaped Rhea's mouth, a quiet grunt escaping right afterward. "Ugh." She shook her head lightly, attempting to get strands of her hair away from her face. This is ridiculous! As much as she liked the cold weather, she didn't have anything on to keep her warm. The only thing remotely close to warm clothes were her tights. "Why here of all places?" she murmured, her gaze momentarily looking off towards the mountains. "Pretty," She muttered, turning her attention towards her master. I wonder if this exam will be simple or not. Rhea's narrowed, the thought repeating itself in her head. A faint smile crossed her lips, turning her attention away from the master. I think I'm more curious about who my partner will be.

Ruth's eyes slowly opened, her eyes darting from side to side to see all the other Scythes around her. They momentarily landed on the person leading the group, only to be averted towards the area they were in. So we're getting partners. She blinked, feeling the cold air already irritate her eyes. She raised her hand and lightly rubbed her eyes with her fingers, a low sigh escaping her lips. I wonder how long it'll take to get there. Ruth lowered her hand and blinked several times to adjust her vision, turning her attention ahead of her once more.

 

ooc - Hate me if you wish, but I did wait all yesterday for people to post. I am getting too exicted. Still, 'tis doesn't make much difference that I am posting now.


A breif smile spread across Roxy's lips upon hearing some complaints from the Reapers following her. She could almost remember the day she had to come out here for her Rites Exam, only she had no warning what so ever that it'd be cold. Nearly died from the cold... Litterally. She shook her head free from the memories of her past as it was not the time for them, she had to be focused to.

With her smile gone now she headed over to the two in the distance which she had missed until they popped out of the snow. "So you are the team to watch over this exam then, eh?" She asked Ivan and Edge, her voice as friendly as it could be for the moment, which wasn't the friendliest ever but still not mean. It was normal for another Reaper Scythe pairing to watch over the Rites Exam, but it still didn't suit well with her.


Kira placed her hand on Ash's back in hopes of reassuring him slightly, knowing that the gesture was probably wasted on a Scythe still so young."Yes, just a little more to go. I apologize for it being at such a place where it is so cold." She had apologized even though the location was not her choice. But then again, she always found herself apologizing for Roxy as that woman could never do such a thing.

Kira removed her hand and continued the steep climb upwards, soon reaching the flat area where they were meant to meet. They had arrive at the opposite end of the Reapers, but she could still see them clearly as the area wasn't that large. Upon seeing Roxy she walked to her partner's side where she remained silent as she spoke to two males. They were obviously not Fledging Reapers, so she figured that these were the ones she heard were watching the exam today.

 

Kegan wiped her jet black hair out of her eyes as she walked through the cold, her coat pulled up tight around her. She already had butterflies though she couldn't tell if that was nerves or excitement. Her eyes glanced at the people around her, wondering if they were feeling the same. Though she couldn't stop wondering what her new partner would be like. She'd waited so long for this day and now it was finally here, she just hoped that all her preperation would help and she wouldn't screw this up. She wasn't sure if she could stand another year at the academy.

 

"Are we almost there yet?Or at least about to start?,He Realized he sounded like a brat the entire trip here but he was eager.He sank in his coat to keep him warm.I've come all this way.......what if i fail?his unsureness caused a frown to spread across his face.

 

ooc - This post shall make everyone post... And allow us to get on with plot.

Roxy's hand twitched upon hearing his name. Common name... Relax. She turned from the two and faced the group of Scythes. "Welcome everyone. My name is Roxy Belmont, and I am the one adminsting the Rites Exam today." She walked away from Ivan and found a spot in the center of the area. To her right were the Reapers and to the left were the Scythes. All still young...Though no younger than she when she took this exam. "All right, let's start part one of the exam. Pairing you all up." She had spent the night memorizing these names in order to avoid having to carry the files up here or even a list, it would of been hard to keep it with this wind. Plus, come on, how can she now know who was going to pair up with her students? She looked over to Kira, who actually brought a folder with pictures in it, and gestured for her to go to the Scythes, which she then did.

"First pair, Ash and Kegan. Second pair, Aiden and Zero. Third pair, Rhea and Ruth. Fourth pair, Rin and Leo. Fifth pair, Stanley and Tesori. And the last pair, Ren and Greg, Ren with an 'e.'" She added in, remembering that their names sounded alike; Rin and Ren. She then looked around and remained silent as the people found their partners with the help of Kira who showed each Scythe a picture of their partner as Roxy spoke, not having enough time to show the Reapers as well.


Rin's head perked up upon hearing her name and she saw Kira showing her a picture instantly afterwards. She then looked to the group of Reapers and saw the one who was to be her partner. She silently walked over to this 'Leo' and bowed slightly before him. "It will be a pleasure working with you." She said as poilent as possible, though her voice remaining blank.

 

"The pleasure is all mine."He smiled."Your names Rin,right?Rin,I'll remember that."He said joyfully.He put out his hand,waiting for her to shake it.

Greg walked about looking for his partner.Where is this person?

 

OOC: Sorry for not posting sooner~! Parents and school are breathing down my neck. >.>

BIC: After hearing who his partner was, Tesori quickly looked to his left. He was looking through the line of Reapers to see if you could find his. Then he remembered that they never had shown them a picture of their partners. However, he didn't notice that Kira was showing pictures of their partners to the Scythes and Reapers. When he saw some other Scythes head over to the Reapers, he felt comfortable enough to join them as well. Being short, Tesori had to stand on his tip-toes to see over the other Scythes' and Reapers' heads. He had asked, "Excuse me, but are you Stanley?" through the crowd of people, each one shaking their head no. Eventually, he came across another boy who looked around the same age as him. "Excuse me, are you Stanley? The Reaper of Tesori?" he asked, a minescule tone of curiousity in his tone.

 

Ash stared at the picture of his Reaper, memorizing what she looked like. Kegan... he thought, Not very original... Though he didn't know why it could've mattered. His pale eyes sought her out among the others and he shuffled through the snow over to her, standing beside her, his white head bowed, "I'm Ash." his voice was more monotone than simply blank, as if he'd introduced himself enough this year. He looked up at her, letting his pale white eyes scan over her. He shivered and let his gaze drop to the snow again.

 

Rhea cocked her head, seeing everyone already beginning to pair up while she simply stood where she had stopped. She crossed her arms and briefly looked at the picture of her partner, before looking around to see someone standing still and staring at her. That's her. Rhea cleared her throat quietly and calmly walked up to Ruth, smiling to show a bit of friendliness. "Hey there!" she said, holding out her hand for Ruth's. "I'm Rhea, your partner."

Ruth briefly looked at Rhea then to the girl's hand, only to to look away. "Ruth," she quietly said, quietly eying those that were already finding their partners. Her eyes narrowed, her mind setting itself on the exam. "Are you ready?"

Rhea perked an eyebrow, slowly lowering her hand down to her side. "I guess I am," she muttered, turning her head away from Ruth and down at the ground. She raised an hand and rubbed the back of her neck lightly, sighing lowly. "I'm sure we'll do fine on the exam."

 

Ren stared at all of the reapers, trying to find his partner. It was a lot easier to do when he saw one of them walking around looking for someone.That's my partner, at least he looks trustworthy he thought walking towards him. "I guess i'm your partner" he said when he got to Greg
