How big is your music library?

    artists - 34
    albums - 71
    songs - 1124

I'm kinda somewhat maybe in the mood to maybe perhaps possibly expand my library if anyone wants to recommend music, but I don't want my library to expand so much that it gets out of hand, and I don't want to add things just for the sake of having them.

    edit: guidelines for recommendations:
    • Please, for the love of god, don't recommend any anime/game music or soundtracks.
    • don't recommend anything that would generally be dubbed "mainstream" or radio music. Chances are I've heard it, and if I like it already have it.
    • If you're going to recommend rap or hip-hop or anything from that hemisphere of music, keep in mind that I generally don't like it, so let that influence your recommends.

    Anyway, check out

I don't want to limit people with what I like, I'm trying to find things beyond what I know I like. I will edit the OP with things I absolutely don't want though.

Question: Does Vocaloid music count as "anime/game music?" It's not anime music by actual definition, but it is Japanese music, which is what a lot of people mean when they say "anime music."

Okay, I know absolutely nothing about Vocaloid beyond its mascot, but if it's not an anime I guess it doesn't count. Still, just going by its mascot I'm going to assume I already know what the music would be like, and assume that I wouldn't like it, but if you (or anyone else) wants to recommend it go ahead.

Miku is not VOCALOID's mascot per se (there are other personas for the voices) but she is the one that's become really well known. I am going to recommend one of her songs that I think you might enjoy: GOD SLAYING MACHINE

    Alright, then, take a look!

Post 1 (Don't worry, there WILL be more than just Vocaloid stuff):
Note: The "mascot," Hatsune Miku, only represents one of the many voice banks in the Vocaloid series of voice synth programs. Most of my favorite Vocaloid songs are Miku, but I'll get at least one of the other voice banks in there too. I'll also include some of my favorite English variants to keep things fresh.

    Black★Rock Shooter (Original Version)

    Black★Rock Shooter (Better Version)

    Odds and Ends (Original)

Kotobatolaborato (Original) (Awesome song, though its meaning is tangled up in Japanese wordplay.)

Kotobatolaborato (English, mainly to emphasize how important the wordplay is in it.)

Dye (Yes, it's completely in English. Megurine Luka has both Japanese and English voice banks.)

I've never heard it. Why don't you try to fix my error instead of just being mad about it?

So are you until you can handle this like you aren't some closed minded child who is incapable of understanding that not everybody has heard of the things that you have. You have a problem with me, don't you? Fix it. If you have a problem with something, you're supposed to fix it. That's how problems work. I've recently adopted the philosophy that a human that won't fix its own problems deserves to die. Society is better off without those worthless wastes of breath.

Welcome to Taking-Things-Too-Seriously Town. Population: You.

Anyway, my Music folder currently is 23 GB. I don't really count by number of artists since many of them are soundtracks or various artists.

(one of few newer LP songs I enjoy)

That was a rant? I thought it was a serious explanation of my feelings toward that one post. My rants go more like:
Anyway, this is a thread for recommending music to my nemesis, not discussing what is and isn't a rant.

Granted a lot of it is repeat stuff (like, two different artists for one musician and a compilation track he did with someone else), but yeah. Obscure-ish stuff I'd recommend:
    • I Fight Dragons - Chiptune-rock band. One of my favorites ever. They use NES controllers during their live shows to make some of their sounds.

    • Caravan Palace - Electroswing band from France. Just pure smexxy.

    • Anamanaguchi - Regular chiptune band. They composed the Scott Pilgrim Game soundtrack (and maybe the movie too? I can't remember), but they also have a lot of really good independent stuff

    • Pendulum - Drum & bass group. Pretty much my favorite dance/electronic music group ever.

    • The Wombats - British indie rock group. They're really damn good; feels-y songs, charmingly humorous songs, the works.
