Hi guys, Paw here saying bonjour, hello, welcome!
I need a favour. Well less of a favour and more an ‘obligation’ where you have to answer my questions! : D

So here, we on KHV (only me really, I care!) want your feedback on some of the podcasts themes and ideas that will help us plan and execute better Podcasts, as well as help us get it into a better direction. A direction YOU all want and agree with! Well… as best we can, honestly!
So if you can take a few minutes to answer the handful of questions below I would LOVE YOU FOREVER!

Also, the more people who feedback, the better. Please describe your thoughts and opinions as best you can.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Here there are:

    • Chilled Podcasts:
Relaxed general topic podcasts where we can talk about anything we want, go off topic all we want. We have done two and received lots of positive feedback. As such we’ll try and continue them. Agree or disagree?
Name change? - Should we change the name of them to make it more official as a thing we're gonna keep up? Any ideas? Or do you like it as is?
Topic suggestions - we need basic topic starters to talk about, like Movies, TV series, Video Games, Kingdom Hearts, etc. Anything you think would be good topics or would be interested in hearing would be great! List em here.

    • KH series Vs KHV centred podcast?:
Should we focus on the community whilst KH news is thin? If so, ideas on what? We have Chilled Pods, but anything else?

    • Summer Podcasts:
Good or bad? Lots of interest last year, but not a lot of organising (we only got a few podcasts in). Should we continue with them this year? Would you like a volunteer staff member in podcasts to help?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the help guys. As a treat for the assistance, we have a new, special podcast coming to you soon, so stay tuned and stay sexy people! ; D

I personally feel the podcast needs more consistency. The people don't always need to be the same, but the format does. Everytime someone listens to this podcast they know what to expect. I don't mean formulaic, but rather you have a defined series of segments each episode. For example:

Part 1: What you up to.

Everyone talks about what they've been up to recently. This can range from games, films, TV etc. Or to something interesting that has been happening to you in general since the last time you appeared on the podcast. At the end of the day the success of the podcast comes down to the personalities and letting people get to know you all a little really helps out with that.

      Part 2: Topics and News

This one is more flexible and will vary depending on what is current at the time. Has an interesting issue come up recently? Any good news in the KH and gaming world that is worth talking about? Discuss it here.

      Part 3: Questions

Let the people speak and ask you anything. A bit of Q&A. This could vary from staff to silly questions.

      ---

This should be a natural part of the podcast.

Start out with a set schedule of things to talk about. People taking part in the podcast can say what they are up for talking about and the host filters out those topics and adds them as a part of the episode. Then before it all starts everyone has a good idea of what will come up. But as the podcast goes on and things go off topic, it doesn't matter. As long as it is still entertaining it doesn't matter at the end of the day.

Keep the name. It's a podcast aimed at this community. No need to change it.

Look at current events, anything that the community may find interesting and discuss it. If it's geek culture then go for it. For example some topics from the past few weeks:

JJ Abrams, Star Wars/Star Trek and now Valve.
      New Releases
      Sony announcement (20th Feb)
      THQ closure

Look at recent topics in Gaming and other sub-forums on the site and see what people are talking about the most.

If KH news comes then make it the main talking point in the news/topic section. But since big news is rare and KH related topics are mostly exhausted at this point let it be KHV centric. Look at what the community finds interesting.

It's an interesting idea. Though perhaps incorporate it to the normal podcast. Have regular guests who will take part in the normal discussions on the main podcast.

Have a segment where the community talk about their opinion about a topic for 30 seconds and pick the best few to add to the podcast during that section. Let them feel involved.

I definitely don't think that the podcasts should be limited to KH only, there's a limited amount of stuff to talk about, and after a while it would just get repetitive or boring.

Maybe, and I don't know if this would be possible, but divide the podcasts into two types: one type KH related, and one type community related, and whenever you do a podcast it's one of those types, depending on if there is anything notable to talk about relating to KH or not. You could name them different things so people would know what is being talked about before they listen. And this way you could organize the two shows differently allowing for more areas to talk about and more variety for the listener.

Regardless of what you go with there definitely needs to be a defined structure, rather than people going off in so many different ways talking about whatever whenever.
      pretty much what above said.

I think you should stick with summer podcasts, but not stick to as strict a schedule as the rest of the year. Maybe just put them out whenever you can, and then get back on schedule at the end of summer.

I don't think the name needs to be changed, there's nothing wrong with the name as it is.
