    Well hi guys :)

As I mentioned in my other thread, I am doing a project regarding teaching teenagers and young drivers about organ donation. But in order to be able to actually teach people, I need to know what needs to be taught if that makes sense. And it would be so unbelievably helpful if you guys could fill this out for me so that I can get this project rolling. If you have any questions about the project or anything else, PM me.

Also if questions dont apply to you (aka. havent taken a Drivers Ed course) just skip it and fill out the other parts because every bit of information really does help.

But seriously please fill this out. PLEASE. I will love you forever.

    Organ Questionnaire

    2. Where do you live? (Country)

    3. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you know about organ/tissue donation?

    4. Eyes/Corneas, Heart and Heart Valves, Lungs, Liver, Intestines, Pancreas, Kidneys, Skin, Bone, Tendons, Femoral and Saphenous Veins.
But if you dont want certain things to be donated, you can just say so. So if I didnt want to donate my kidneys but I wanted to donate bone, then if you specify that, they cater to those wants.

    5. Is there a reason you havent registered?

And yes i love you forever and ever now. <3

lol well... would you be an organ donor?

    and btw...

the reason i asked the question if your parents know your wishes about organ donation is because in the US if you are under the age of 18 and you die, even if you say you are an organ donor on your license, they make the final call. So unless teenagers make what they want clear, organ donors could be lost.

I s'pose. It's not really something I'm very interested in though, so I doubt I'll even remember by the time I'm 18 (next year) and will be able to make the decision on my own.

    4. What information would you like to know or would you have liked to have known more of regarding organ donation? There's not much more I would like know, I kind of get the basics i.e. You die, we take your organs, the end.

    6. Did your knowledge or lack of knowledge effect your decision? If so which one and why? At first I was turned off by organ donation for no real reason, I didn't know however that your organs are always removed when you die, regardless of if you're a donor of not. I figured if I'm not going to buried with them, why not give them to someone who needs them?

    8. Are your parents organ donors? If not, do you know why? I haven't the foggiest idea whether or not they are.

    10. Do your parents know your wishes on organ donation? No.

    11. Did/Are you going through Drivers Ed through your local DMV office? Or through an online course or home study? Not yet, I'm too young.

    12. During the course did they mention organ donation? I haven't taken it so I don't know, but they mentioned it in my health class.

    13. Do you have a Drivers Permit or license? No.

    14. How long when you got your permit were you given to make a decision if you wanted to be an organ donor? I haven't gotten it.

    15. Did you know before you went to the DMV that they would ask you about becoming an organ donor? I've never been to the DMV.

    16. Where do you think it would be beneficial to put information about
organ donation for new drivers? The local DMV office, Health classes, etc.
Probably give things out in health classes, and have brochures in maybe the Nurse's office or Guidance office.

T'aw I think its great that you're studying this type of stuff :3 and using the internet to help you :'D

    Organ Questionnaire

    1. How old are you? 14.

    2. Where do you live? (Country) Australia

    3. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you know about organ/tissue donation? 8/10 (mother works in the medicalfield/have a natural act of knowing about this sort of stuff)

    4. What information would you like to know or would you have liked to have known more of regarding organ donation? [Whether or not I get to keep in touch with the people who I donate my organs too (unless I die, then it doesn't really count.) Which organ is more likely to help.

    5. Are you an organ donor? Why or why not? No, I'm afraid not. Underaged.

    6. Did your knowledge or lack of knowledge effect your decision? If so which one and why? I've known about Organ Donating for quite some time now (couple years actually)

    7. Do you know anyone who has donated/received an organ/tissue? Nope.

    8. Are your parents organ donors? If not, do you know why? No, unless there is some unforseen contract I have yet to find out about. I'm not sure why though.

    9. Did your parents influence your decision to be or not an organ donor? Never talked to me about it.

    10. Do your parents know your wishes on organ donation? Never talked about it. Which reminds me, maybe I should discuss it with them

    11. Did/Are you going through Drivers Ed through your local DMV office? Or through an online course or home study? Highschool. Grade Nine. B|

    12. During the course did they mention organ donation? Sorry, I'm of no help here. But my aunt's partner is an Organ Donor.

    13. Do you have a Drivers Permit or license? Underaged.
    14. How long when you got your permit were you given to make a decision if you wanted to be an organ donor? Non applicable.

    15. Did you know before you went to the DMV that they would ask you about becoming an organ donor? Sorry love, I'm of no help here either.

    16. Where do you think it would be beneficial to put information about organ donation for new drivers? The local DMV office, Health classes, etc. Any other suggestions? I can argue both sides to this question. Yes they should, to let young drivers know that if their body is dead, their organs (the healthy ones ofcourse) can be given to someone to help them live. On the otherhand, it might freak them out about the whole driving/license idea & make them wait a couple more years before they go for a test, so they are more steady, because nothing scares the **** out of teenagers more than given a license to death. I'm just hypotherizing here, but it is possible. However, I do think it is something that needs to be taken into consideration and talked about amongst students and teachers as an educational lesson.

    I hope that helps~

Also, for those who asked relatively the same question for No.4: I believe hearts, lungs, livers and kidneys are the most critical organs needed. Most Wanted organs.
