Chain of Memories Question about the little pixel charecters-Original GameBoy version

I've seen people create the things with their own words or characters. Can someone tell me what the things are called and where I can find a site to make my own? I wanted to do something with my own character, but have no idea where to find it.

I think they're called sprites.

As for anything else about them...I haven't the foggiest idea.

 

Saix is right, they are called sprites. People make them on simple programs like MS Paint. If they don't do that, then they rip the sprites off the game.

 

They can still post here, not all the mods know what sprites are.

And yes, use MS paint or search for some on www.photobucket.com

 

Here is a link for a thread that shows you how do make sprite animations using gimp. And Gimp is a free program just google it and download, its like photoshopish but different.

You don't get what I'm saying. The creater of this thread is new to the forum, and probably doesn't much about the staff/what they specialize in. Besides, some of the regular members on the forum probably know more than the staff do on this particular topic. (Not saying that is always the case.) The mods/admins are there to help around the forum but like I said, non-forum reated topics can be answered by anyone.

the sprites don't belong to them nor do they take credit but it is a large sprite library dedicated to square. (beats the crap out of googling them XD)
also i have quite a few sprite sheets if you need them
eg: KH2 Sora, KH2 Riku, KH2 Kairi ect.

 

the art of editing and making sprites is called spriting, and while it was pretty popular two years back, it's hard to fnd large spriting communitys nowadays.
