    I finished the GBA version of COM yesterday, with both Sora and Riku. Such a great game, mandatory for making the link between KH1 and 2.

    Well, it may sound a little stupid and useless, but i'm so curious and I wanted to ask. Sorry if I wasted your time on this.

    My question is (spoilers below, I'm putting it on a different color):
    - In Sora's ending, it is clear that he chooses to enter the sleeping pod so he can have his old memories restored by Naminé (discarding everything that happened at Castle Oblivion). So it was a choice he made, he was not forced to do it or anything;
    - But in the KH2 intro, where there is a fast retrospective of the facts that happened in KH1 and COM, there's this scene where Sora climbs the stairs, enters a room and encounters Naminé drawing a picture, and then suddently, the sleeping pod grabs him, as if he was trapped against his will.

    Does someone know, have any idea why it's presented this way in KH2 intro?
    Something I missed? I haven't played the PS2 Re:COM yet (i'll buy the American version coming next December), so I don't know if there is something there to clarify this.

    Thank you all people.

    i don't know why they presented it that way either. it DID look like he was being imprisoned against his will. especially when he fainted and looked like he was leaning against the window of the pod and Namine looked like she was mouthing "die, Sora".

    anyways, the Playstation 2 version of Chain of Memories is no different than the old one (in terms of the whole pod thing). i played the Japanese version but i can tell, Sora DID get into that pod willingly.

    i guess it just looked more interesting the way they did it

    I always wondered about that, but never got around to posting it. Thanks. Anyway, there was no reason for them to do it. Maybe it represented something or symbolized something. I honestly have o idea what that could be, but my perspective of it would be that he creators wanted it to have more action and make you want to buy the game if you didn't already.

    I don't really think there is an exact reason for. It might just of fitted with the music better. Sora climbing into the pod wouldn't really work that well with it, would it?:huh:

    Heh, well, he wanted to go in to restore his memories, but at the same time he didn't want to leave Namine or go to sleep, so in a way he was imprisoning himself so maybe thats what he felt like inside.

    Yes, I agree. It was as if the pod was a wall blocking Sora while he tried to approach Naminé. Sora still wanted to be friends with her even though he knows
    his memories of her are fake.

    Hey guys, thanks for replying.

    Some good points were presented so far; it really was more interesting to present the "pod scene" that way, it combined with the fast-pace nature of the intro, and looked more drammatic too. The idea of it being a representation of Sora's real feelings towards his memories with Naminé is pretty interesting.

    Can't wait to play Re:COM!

    Also, they didn't show Sora learning about how Naminé can control memories, so he would have no reason to climb into the pod. He is in it at the start of KH2, so the development team might have decided to just have the pod grab Sora instead.
