That depends on your conception of sin. I feel that as long as I don't hurt anything (aside from what I eat, of course), I'm doing nothing wrong. Why should I be bothered by issues of christian morality when my life is fine as it is and no one is hurt by it?

Now, don't get me wrong. I respect your belief. If you really want to believe in an all-knowing God and the absence of free will (because if God knows everything, how can we make a choice?) and an end to all normal human life (the Apocalypse), go right ahead. Amendment 1 of the Constitution. I just happen to feel differently. Voltaire (I think): "I disagree with everything you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" (may not be quoted right, but whatever).

What childofturin means is that first off, don't get him wrong. He respects what you believe. If you really want to believe that god is real and that free will is gone, (because if God knows everything, how can humans make a choice?) and if you want to believe in an end to all normal human life, feel free to do so.
He justs happen to feel differently.
He quoted Voltaire, but he's not sure if Voltaire is the correct person.
Anyways, the quote went like this, "I disagree with everything you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
But it may not be quoted right, but he doesn't give a damn.

Anyways, I don't really think that I want to be pure. What if someone stabbed you in the arm and you were thinking good thoughts? And not retaliating because you were so 'pure'? =/

That was it. Thanks. And I don't remember who said it, but Voltaire pops into mind. Either him, or one of the famous American revolutionaries.

i'm afriad there's no such thing as an innocent person in that context.
According to one person or another you will have done wrong.
    Purity is virtually impossible.

    I agree with this.

As long as I'm not hurting anyone, I don't care about being "pure".

Christians feel the need to strive and acheive purity, because unclean sinners cannot get into Heaven after death. It is an impossible task though, which is why Christians believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins and took away their sins and unpurities, making them righteous. But that is only if you accept Christ's gift of salvation. That's it in a nutshell, and I know because I am a Christian and carry these beliefs. If that offends anyone, then I'm sorry, but it is what I believe.

    Thunderslut has a point.

The only one I am faithful to is me. The judge I'll have the hardest time facing is me. The only views of right and wrong that I follow are mine. And even if I act according to what I think is right, I would not call myself pure. I'm just keeping a promise I made to myself which is only natural and normal.
Purity can be quite a pretentious word at times.

Anyone does what (s)he thinks is right. If their life philosophy is an egocentrical one or one that involves harm to other human beings then this may probably be frowned upon by many others.
But they do it for the greater good, or for personal good which they deem more important. No one is going to act his/her nature. Therefore, every person does what (s)he believes is good no matter how wrong it may seem to the rest of us.

This is a brick wall. I gave it the same explanation as I gave you, and it sure as hell understood it better than you did.

For the last time. Since everyone has different views on bad and good, they all care about their definition of good. They all care about being good. Which makes your question rather pointless.
