So I've been debating with myself whether or not this would be the correct time to purchase a PS4. I had originally planned to purchase it on the day of it's release but the release titles didn't really catch my attention.

Money isn't really a problem and I've been dying to play the new Infamous sequel, on the flip side I know I'll complete the game in about 3 to 4 weeks and there doesn't seem to be many new titles coming out which I couldn't play on PC such as Watch Dogs.

Of course it's always personal preference and all, but i'd probably advise against it.
The few games i've played that are there and exclusive are not worth buying a system. At worst you can go and buy them later on at a much lower price.
Honestly though, wait till E3 and see what's revealed beyond it. That'll probably change a lot of people's minds.

    This. So much.

The is really no reason to buy it now when they aren't that many "fantastic" games on it. I'll keep this short so I don't get shot by any Infamous fanboys. But yeah, waiting is probably your best bet. I rarely play mine tbh.

I'm a huge Infamous fanboy and I agree that Second Son was no more than a 'good' game. I just feel that it could have been easily released on the PS3 instead of the PS4.

I was more or less getting at that people have been saying that "it's worth buying a console for". It's going to take a REALLLLY good game to be worth like 460 dollars. lol

If money isn't an object and there are PS4 games you would like to play, I don't see any reason to not buy the console (unless there's something else you want and could buy with the money). I just don't think there's much of a benefit in waiting if the price is not a concern. I bought a PS4 on launch -- the title that I really wanted on it was Final Fantasy XIV, which only just came out. But I knew there would not be a price cut any time soon, certainly not by the time FFXIV was out, nor a new model, so there wasn't a reason to delay a few months. I can understand not wanting to purchase on launch because you worry about hardware issues but thankfully that wasn't a problem with the PS4.

Basically... if you want it, buy it. There are some entertaining games available for it (Resogun, Contrast, FFXIV, Infamous, etc.), and more on the way.

I don't intend to get a PS4 until (GUESS WHAT?) Guilty Gear Xrd comes out, but I'd gladly buy it to play that one game. Then again I'm weird. A more realistic standard would probably be 3-4 solid titles. Used to be you could get a system and one game and just while away the months with all your backwards-compatible games from last gen, but I guess those days are over...

Personally I've been waiting for the AAA game library to fill out more, but I've been hearing there's been a lot of swell indie games available for it currently, and all the games Misty had listed. I haven't heard much bad hardware wise either, so it sounds like you can jump right in and have a pretty solid console for a while. It's really your preference in the end.

I bought my PS4 at launch and I'm regretting it somewhat. Sure I enjoyed the few games that came out such as Infamous: SS, Resogun, Mercenary Kings, and others, but it really wasn't worth it. I kinda bought it on instinct because I knew how fast the PS4 was being sold out in many places. I knew if I didn't buy the PS4, I wouldn't be able to buy it until a few months in 2014. Mostly, I bought it for Watchdogs and the RPGs coming out later in the years like FF XV and KH3.

Right now though, I would wait till E3. At the very least, until May when the good games are coming out such as Watchdogs or Trasnsistor.

I decided to hold of buying it for the time being. To be honest I don't mind buying it and just letting it sit there but I'd rather have the money incase I need it for something else.

I personally am waiting until I get a job before getting one. Hopefully by the time I do, there would already be a bunch of games I'm interested in, like Batman Arkham Knight, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Resogun, Tomb Raider (which I didn't get for my PS3), and many other stuff. I think these games could keep me busy until KH3 is out.
