I just got a PSP today...

    Any game recommendations?
I already have Need For Speed: Madness, Call Of Duty (something) and Splinter Cell.

I plan to get BBS and Crisis Core...and perhaps an NBA game.

Can't go wrong with Disgaea Dark hero Days or Lunar Silver Star Harmony, and go for the Final Fantasy 1 remake. And FF Tactics: War of Lions.

Sell it and get a DS [/sarcasm]

In all seriousness, the PSP is somewhat annoyingly limited. There is, however, some great stuff on it despite that. Burnout is a must if you like racing games, if you like strategy, the Disgaea games are excellent choices, platformers have Jak And Daxter and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? and, finally, rhythm games have Rock Band Unplugged and DJMAX Fever.

Some of the good games have already been brought up. But I'd recommend Persona 1 PSP, myself. Then get Persona 3 Portable when it comes out in a few months. Oh, and Dissidia.

Agreed. To get the most out of a PSP, you really need to install custom firmware on it. Not necessarily to pirate games, but because it opens up a whole lot of avenues. You can get around the UMD problem by ripping your games to your memory stick and playing them from there. You can use it to play your old ripped PSX games, or you can check out the homebrew scene. Personally, I use mine mostly for manga.

I was dissapointed in the PSP. I bought Crisis Core and Dissidia which were entertaining, but most games don't appeal to me.
I liked the Monster Hunter serie though, you should definitely check that out.

I would suggest Dissidia Final Fantasy, which is obviously a masterpiece.
Next, you should save money to get Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
The demo is brilliant and the controls are amazing for a PSP game.

Yeah, my old PSP ended up devolving into a portable Cave Story machine. As soon as I get my new one hacked, the same will likely happen to it, too.

Alright guys, I'll look into these games. Final fantasy Dissidia and CC are for sure now.

IMO, the PSP isn't too too bad... I think it's good.
Also, are there any good basketball games available, I need one of those to keep myself entertained.

Yeah Dissidia is definitely amazing, and I think Loco Roco is so stupid it's awesome =D. It has great music and just incredibly random. It just depends what you're into, Tekken Dark resurrection is apparently very good (I haven't played it myself but I've heard some very good things about it and the PS2 games are immense so I don't think it'll be any different) and Tekken 6

Okay like some, Dissidia is way to cool for my socks, and I also enjoy the Warriors Orochi Series. Good Hack n Slash video game. But some strategy!

Also, I thought Crisis Core was a good buy for my money.

Patapon is definitely a game you should buy for the PSP although I don't know about the second one considering I never bought it. You might want to also look in to God of War Chains of Olympus and Monster Hunter Portable.
