So, I'm looking into downloading BBSFM for my PSP, and found out some information about it, such as it works on CFW. Now, what I would like to know about the whole setup is whether or not CFW is required for using the game, can my standard memory stick handle CFW if it is needed, and what are the pros and cons of using CFW, as well as the risks. I have the latest firmware version currently on my PSP, and the model is 3001.
there's no cons or risks with using cfw it's completly safe if you wan't to know how to install cfw check out this thread I made where P posted a short tutorial on the front page on how to install cfw.
Dark Lycan, there were no risks for you, because you have a PSP 1000. It's very different for a PSP 3000. If he screws up, it could render his PSP entirely unusable, with no way to recover. @Cryoshell: If you're serious about getting CFW, then stop updating your firmware, and tell me the current version. You'll probably have to wait around for a while, until an exploit on that firmware is found for you to run a Homebrew Enabler through. The last exploitable firmware is 6.35, IIRC. Your current memory stick should be suitable, although 2GB or more is preferable if you're running BBS. CFW is required for running BBS from a memory stick.
