ok i got a psp for Christmas

make a long story short i was excited about the fact that u can play ps1(a.k.a. psx)
classics. so i did my usual research so i didnt waste a whole $5.99(plus tax) anywho
when i was online i faced some problems everyone seemed to be saying that to get a ps1 classic one your psp u need to transfer it via ps3(something i dont have)
so i asked one of my best friends nice(known as the grim heaper on khv(but left a while ago)
and he said u can download it straight to your psp without the use of a ps3 what so ever

which would be good for me

    soooooooo
please someone tell me what exactly needs to be done in order to play a ps1 classic

    my psp specs

    firmware version: 6.20
psp type: psp 3000(gran tursimo version)
custom firmware: no(i cant get it since mine is psp 3000)

    PLEASE HELP MEH

PS THE GAMES I REALLY WANT TO PLAY ARE MAINLY

    FF7(OF COURSE)
    MEDIEVIL
POSSIBLY SOME OF THE OLD SPYRO GAMES(THE FIRST PROBABLY CUZ THAT ONE PWNS)

I don't think that you can download it straight to your PSP but you can download the games with MediaGo on your PC and then put them on your PSP.

    are you positive

    but what your saying is

that i DONT need a ps3 at all if so that is fantastic

and i think you can because on 6.20 you can go to the PlayStation store and download demos and other stuff
i already downloaded a demo straight to it(it was free) so is it the same concept then

Not Sure... I'm just going by the thing on GameSpot... You most probably just need an AV Cable and your PSP...

Yea Im positive that the PS3 is not necessary. I dont have the newest firmware and my PSP is broken so I dont use the Playstation Store but on the Sony website it says that the program allows you to download games, demos, and etc. from the Playstation Store and then you connect your PSP and transfer the games. Here is the link if you are looking for it.

YOU CAN Download directly from your PSP... I downloaded a demo of Dissidia Final Fantasy recently... Very simple to do... Make an account of PSN then go and try to download the game.

and or i could download a ps1 classic directly over the playstation store
