psp help

    Alright so I got a psp for xmas, but it won't let me play any games, I just put them in like I think they should but nothing happens, anyone know what to do, to sort it out



    ps. it's second hand FYI

    Do you have a charged battery in it? I know it sounds stupid, but that's what happened when I first got mine.

    Then were you putting the disks in the right way? It has to be the disk or the system itself.

    the label on he disc should face away from the psp the same way a gameboy cartdridge would go in a gameboy.

    What happens when you put them in? Does anything change, like a new Icon in the Xcross bar?

    Yeah the games don't start from themselves you must go to the UMD menu and select the game.

    When you don't change the settings on a new psp they do.

    If you got it second-hand, it may have been modded with Custome Firmware, which means it can no longer play UMDs.

    No they don't, unless by "new" you mean 3 months or later. My friend bought his psp at that time with the latest firmware installed, and he must select the game from the menu to play.

    And how do I fix that.

    Also could that metal thing be the reason why? Since I can get the disk on the thing it's meant to be on since it's in the way
