Seems like an interesting idea, games would look more realistic when it looks like that monster pops out the screen and scares the s*** out of you.

    I personally think that's a great idea

But I'm not buying a new TV just for that

3D Television sets are already quite expensive. I'm not shelling out that much just so I can see everything in 3D.

Of 3D TVs come down in price the woohoo I'm getting one. Otherwise, I'll stick to my regular TV where everything stays in the screen thank you very much.

It is an interesting and yet kinda odd idea but I still don't understand the point of a 3D TV when it's probably cheaper just to broadcast programs under the 3D way (like Channel 4 have done this week) and use glasses either like the crappy paper ones you get easily or those plastic ones from the cinema.

    Agreed.
If the quality of a 3D experience is significantly better on a 3D TV than through some glasses, the purchase of one can be justified. HOwever, if the difference is mininmal i'd rather have some cheap glasses than fork out for a few movies and games.

By the by, anyone know if the quality of 3D can be improved?

As amazing as it sounds, I feel that it wouldn't catch on to the average players and members of the public. Almost like how tons of things in life are great ideas and implemented great, but never seem to appeal to the majority.
In this case, it may catch on, or people may see it as a gimmick and ignore it in general. But there's still the chance that it could become mainstream. Overall I think it's a great idea, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Sounds awesome, but I just upgraded my TV from the boxy thing we've had for 12 years to a flat-screen LCD. Don't think I'd be shelling out the cash to replace it just so I can have the living daylights scared out of me when playing a FPS or something.

Now, if they made the games the same sort of way they did the 3D movies, and packaged 3D glasses with the game, maybe I'd look into it.
