Should I get a PS3 or Wii?

Hmm...I think you might get bored with the Wii, right now anyway, because they will get better games. I love it personally. I tihnk you should buy it depending what game you like, and the graphic quality.

yes my advice sucks. You should buy PS3, since the price reduced by a lot. There aren't very much games, but same with Wii.

 

i think you should get both and give me the one you do not want.

 

Do research on games you want, then decide from there.

Wii's selling point in terms of games right now is definitely Super Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros Brawl due in February. If you're not a fan of the mario series or SSB series, then you might wanna overlook the Wii for now.

Perfectly said. I have Wii and I'd recommend it. Although it's true that PS3 has had a price drop, the lowest price you can get it at is $399.99. Still expensive. It won't be worth getting, in my opinion, until FF-XIII comes out, PS3 is good in terms of graphics, but not gaming. Also, there are many great games for Wii coming out soon and the beginning of next year.

What games you find 'good' depends on what kind of gamer you are.

I'm both a party gamer and an RPG enthusiast--well, JRPG to be specific, so ever since the beginning, I've always owned both the Sony and Nintendo consoles (i.e. PS1/N64, PS2/GC, PS3/Wii). From my perspective, my Wii line-up ends after Brawl releases (i.e. February), and I'm not sure if I'll get Mario Kart Wii next spring. In other words, as of now I only see myself owning 3 titles at most for my Wii until Nintendo has something else to share that might spark my interest.

But like I said earlier, I'm also an RPG enthusiast, and there are extensively a lot more titles that I either want, or am interested in seeing more of, on my list from now, next year and beyond:
- Assassin's Creed (due for release this week)
- FFXIII
- FFvsXIII
- White Knight Story
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- Possibly Star Ocean 4?
- list goes on with titles with slightly less interest.

My point being, games play a big role in choosing which console you want to buy. However, for a JRPG enthusiast like myself, it usually takes around 2 years after a console debut before quality RPG titles make their way onto the market. So in that sense, regardless of genre, it's good to look ahead and find out about what's 'to come' on the console's itinerary and not always 'what's available now'.

After Brawl, the Wii line-up as of now looks pretty barren, but I'm not really complaining since I'm almost certain Brawl will be the one game that'll last me until Nintendo's next console platform, so I couldn't care less if the Wii had nothing left to offer me. Melee made the GC enjoyable even up until now, so I'm expecting somewhat the same with Brawl.
