Sony PS3 - Is it really worth it?

Well...I have said this many times before, but despite it having possibly good games (KH and FF), I won't want to be paying $1000 Australian just for a console. I will probably succumb to the temptation of getting one, but for the moment, I am sticking with the Wii.

 

i no i mean i want a ps3 but they r SOOOOO expensive the wii is my only hope for now *cries*

I am sticking to ps3 and i will defintely wait for a few months for the price to drop so i get it at a low price rather than 'hey the ps3 is out, lets get it' buy it when it is at a reasonable price this is what i think

 

Wait, wait, there's still people that are not only willing, but LOOKING FORWARD to shelling out 600 bucks for a console and 70-90 bucks a game for stuff they could easily get on 360 (notice that PS3 keeps losing exclusivity on more and more titles? it's no coincidence)? I thought such people were just a myth. The PS3 will suck. But hey, just remember, PS3 purchasers will have RIDGE RACER! AND GIANT ENEMY CRABS! NEW REALISTIC GAMEPLAY METHODS! LIKE STRIKING WEAKSPOTS FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE AND SWITCHING WEAPONS IN REAL TIME! NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!

Okay, sorry, just had to get that out. Now as for KH3, to quote "We don't want PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them," says Michihiro Sasaki, senior VP of Square Enix. "But we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much...Final Fantasy XIII is already promised to the PS3, however we do not yet know what we are doing with kingdom hearts...in all likelihood it will not appear on the PS3." My bets, especially with nomura's hint earlier this year about using the wiimote as a keyblade is that the wii will get KH and I also believe that FF13 may end up being multiplatform instead of PS3 exclusive, which it never was confirmed to be, it has just only been announced for the PS3...so far...

Now let's take a look at the PS3 launch list, shall we?

There is absolutely no reason to buy a PS3 at launch, and there are less and less reasons to buy a PS3 at all every day.

Also, DMC4 is coming to X-Box 360, so you don't need a PS3 to play that.

I'll buy a Wii and have endless fun with Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, and SSBB. PS3 fans can have fun with Ridge Racer 7.

The 360 launch list was mediocre. There was nothing amazing.. Roxas, I don't see how you thought that it was better.

Also, Devil May Cry 4 is PS3 exclusive. Where the hell did you see that it was coming to 360? I think you just made it up.

Blu-ray player: $1000+
PS3(Blu-ray included): $600

I would personally just buy a PS3 for blu-ray and save $400, but.. no, it also serves as the most powerful gaming system to hit the market yet. I don't see why you complain..

Play your Wii, and have fun acting like a moron trying to wave that controller around and swing your sword.

 

When i see Final Fantasy XIII, THEN ill think about spending 600$ on a console.

But I still don't think the PS3 is worth the money.

I didn't make it up. I read it on another message board. A guy (who is usually accurate, let me down here though) read it on some site, and he just misinterpreted the article. I feel dumb for saying it though (probably because I am).

I got the launch list from the same place, but it was a pretty old topic. I was just too lazy to see if the list had been updated since then.

Again, sorry. I feel bad, and stupid.

 

It's alright man. xD! Tell that guy though, that he shouldn't get his hopes up, because it's not coming out for 360. >.>

 

It is totally worth it though my firned who is like a fanatic about the PS3 says to get the $500 one and upgrade it, sounds simple but I dunno, I'm going with Wii first, wii all the way, I'll probably get PS3 when it's cheaper, wonder when that'll be...

PS3 might be decent but its price is just too high and the wii will have 25+ launch titles. im a hardcore nintendo man and i admit that the sony fanboys have worded the ps3 into some sort of god of game consoles but eventually there will be another console just like it and better graphics isnt far enough of a game advancment to drop $600.
the wii offers something new, new controllers and new ways of play it might not look as good but its new. yes some sony games were awsome(God of war, ff7, destroy all humans, and of cours,\\KH//) but most sony games are 1st person shooters or hack and slash games with online capabilitys which has been played out so much it has no meaning. there are holes in wat i said but i cant remember wat they were so try to fill them in (i was typing while watching mad tv).

 

Im not going to buy a ps3 for a game that now looks like batman characters and comes out in 2011....definetly not worth it.
