Uhm... suppose I wanted to play an imported copy of KH2FM+ & KHreCoM... I definitely couldn't even make it PLAY on an American PS2 right? Well, is it maybe possible to make this work if I changed the settings of the PS3 to accomodate Japanese... anything?

No, i don't think the PS3 will allow you play imported ps2 games. But that's what i've heard & i'm pretty sure it's correct.

Yeah, I've heard something like that too. The best thing to do is just to mod your PS2, if you want to play import games.

To play Kingdom Hearts Two: Final Mix Plus, you are going to need:

A Japanese Playstation Three (It does not have any region block with Playstation Three games only, but Playstation Two games will still have that region block)
    A Japanese Playstation Two
    Modding your Playstation Two

You need to get one of those if you want to play Kingdom Hearts Two: Final Mix Plus.

PS3 is region free for PS3 titles because this region restriction is also on the discs, not just the console. PS2 games are still region encoded, therefore you can only play PS2 games that reflect the region of your PS3.

Had I known this sooner, I would've bought a Japanese PS3 (saving me the trouble of getting Swap Magic for my slim) and had my imports upscaled to 1080P.

    Shame shame.
