Kingdom Hearts II Proving Clothes are Useless

Ok, I love how assumably Nomura has done the character art throughout KH and KH2... But.. I just see that this is proving more and more that the character's clothes are meaningless... Come on!!! Atleast like 2 characters had hoods they didn't use, and improperly placed zippers... MULTIPLE LARGE pockets everywhere, and no active use... (ok, for all we know, Sora & Mickey's jumbo pockets had potions in them or something...?) but really... the wardrobe of the majority of the main characters was used for jack.... Just look at Sora's, Mickey's, Pete's, Donald's, Goofy's, Kairi's, ok now Riku's wasn't as exaggerated, but still.... And the hood thing, YEAH, Sora & Mickey both had hoodies, and refused to use them at ANY time... Has anybody else noticed this?

That means that Ayane's panty shots in DoA are helpful to her fighting abilities, right? :3

 

Uhm, no... NOT enough said. Go elsewhere to drop responses like that. I think I'm a reasonable enough person to KNOW its a series of video games, and that the characters in those games are fictional, and therefore as are their garments... So, I doubt desirable feedback would include dismissing my ideas or opinions in such a manner explaining something I already know... A thread in a forum about single video game in particular... Hope there's some realism in there...

Zippers aside, there are just too many things Nomura designs that are too unrealistic when you consider the character's occupation or situation.

FFXIII, just because it came to mind. Her hair is way too long for her kind of work. Considering the type of 'work' she engages in, it's amazing how it doesn't get caught anywhere or prove disadvantageous like it should in the bigger scheme of things. This also goes for her cape. In fact, capes are possibly one of the worst accessories to wear during battle, unless you're Zorro and always manage to cinematically make it a deadly weapon.

But yes, like others have said. It's just for design, oh well. It looks good.

 

Okay maybe some of them did not use their hoodies.
But think about how Soras jacket would look like with out a hoodie :/
The design would become much more dull/more boring.
It is for the cause of the design so it doesn't look half finished.
It's much nicer to look at some details mayeb more than necesary instead of something that looks half finished.
And you can actually see Mickey use the organization coat with the hood.

 

Well, it's a game, it just makes them look cooler.

 

Alot of the final fantasy games have random clothing. Heak look at Lulu from FFX. And your complaining that soras hood is never used. I like these random outfits zipper and belts in stupid places make them look more cool. ;D

 

the zippers are a nod to the nobodies and the hoods are just there for posterity sheesh can we stop thease stupid threads that have no meaning whatsoever

 

Sora's hood is being used...though not by Sora. Jiminy Cricket lives in it.

 

Kairis little bag serves no purpose but it looks cute. IDK I love the character designs. I think the exageration of features [like the big zippers belts pockets] makes it look really interesing:p

 

As do I. I just also have to laugh at the ridiculousness of it... lol Ok, ok, TECHNICALLY Jiminy sits in there.. lol But my point is that while the clothes are FASHIONABLE, the objects of main focus on them (hoods, zippers, big pockets, elastic straps) are quite useless other than show...

That's the point of the useless stuff; only for show. xD Who doesn't like a hero with fashionable clothing? ;D

 

SERIOUSLY, THAT makes me wanna say "it's just a game" throughout EVERY video game thread in the forums now!
Plus, you think THIS is a stupid thread, you know it's not long before we see something like this: "Who would win? Donald vs. Sephiroth?" Guess what? Neither would win, because they're both fictional characters in a video game! There's no point of asking the question! I should go do the SAME for biblical discussions!! Say something REALLY offensive like "God doesn't exist, therefore he never HAD a son, therefore, all of your beliefs are unfounded, go home and shut up, none of it's real!"
