At my school tickest for the prom are on sale. I don't think I should go cuz it'll be at a hotel....plus I really don't wanna get dressed up in a bright dress. Prom these days are either too boring or to wild. It's every girls dream to win prom queen. To be swifted away by prince charming. This is suppose to be the most magically event ever....well was it?
I don't know if the prom queen thing is actually like that these days, but at my high school, it was supposed to be a special day. Biggest night of the year, parties afterwards, romantic, the punch was usually spiked, but yeah it was special. I didn't go. Junior year, I didn't have the heart to say no to a girl to ask me so I didn't ask my boss for the day off and worked. Same thing Senior year, I didn't like my date so I broke it off. The girl I wanted to go with had another date, so I just went to work. I heard it was pretty niice, but nothing extraordinary. A bunch of people who didn't go still went to the hotel for the afterparties. I guess it depends on the school.
I didn't even bother going to prom  I hate the music they play these days and also I heard it sucked. So in the end, it all would of been just a huge waste of munny. Now Grad Nite on the other hand was awesome! One of the best times I've ever had then getting to go to AnimeExpo a week of two after!
I don't even want to go to mine. I dislike parties and I'm not one who has the kind of friends that are freaking out because they can't wait to go to prom. I'm being forced to go, though. If I don't find a date at my school, then apparently my parents are going to look for one. And I think they already have someone in mind, but I still don't want to go. Not all girls want to be prom queen. Only a select few, I would assume. And that whole prince charming thing, I doubt that even exist. If I were to go to my prom, I'd most likely be irritated and bored.
Like others have said, each school does it differently. Prom should be a fun event- a chance to party with friends and have a laugh. There shouldn't be a pressure to take a date or get too dressed up. It's up to you, but I'd give it a chance- it could turn out very fun :3
School only lasts for so long. Im not a great party person but I went to my school ball both times I was able to, but I tried to have a good time and it was worth it. It is a good thing to do so you can spend more time relaxing with your friends before you leave. If you don't go then thats your choice, but I advise you do as you may regret not going and wondering what is was like and having no idea.
I went to Prom my junior and senior year and it was an amazing experience both times. It's well worth it. Especially if your date is someone you really like. I advise you go, merely just to hang out with friends and have fun. It may be the last few times your friends are all together before leaving for college.
School dances are a waste of money and time. The chances of any music that doesn't suck ass being played are close to zero.
I would say go. This is my junior year and I will be attending for the first time. I'm not one of the girls who wants prom queen, I could really care less to tell you the truth. Actually, a lot of probably don't care that much. I think prom is definitely a staple in the whole high school experience and if you don't go, you may end of regretting it. And you don't have to wear a bright dress, like you said, heck my dress is a really dark blue, almost black. Don't let the whole standard dress thing hold you back, just go and express yourself and have a great time!
Hell, i'm glad I went to my prom last year. Some fairly decent music but that was when I was mainly into club music, I danced my ass off looking like a fool, all my school mates were thereand we all had smiles. It was the closest I'd felt to them in a long time. Really the night could have gone a lot worse. I'm going to this years as well. It's the sending away party for all the people I probably will never see again, even though i'd like too. Heck I'm gonna miss alot of my friends and this is the best way to say goodbye. I'm not expecting the thing to go without a hitch but I won't let other people ruin it for me. I do think that in the future if someone asked me what my teens were like, I'd hate to say I missed on going out with my friends and missing prom. I've missed enough of my life, and I'll regret if I miss anymore on purpose.
I went to my prom and I thought it was alright. I can't really judge because I felt sick but still I had a fun time but it was as fun as people say it is. I guess it will be different with other schools though but I guess you should go and check it out yourself
I am probably going to forced by friends, but if were up to me personally I would be going in jeans and a T-Shirt. Both of my parents didn't go to their proms. The current trend at my school is to actually go with a group of friends and not a date. I guess it is all just a matter of personal preference.
I dont like parties- ESPECIALLY school dances. Besides, i grew and intense fear of the prom ever since watching Carrie lmao. But i will probably go anyways just for the memories, since prom is a supposed highlight of a teenagers life. Being the cheap whore i am my man will have to the purchase both of our tickets, because here the tickets are 64 bucks :/
I wouldn't know cuz im not a girl (Unless ive got this biology thing down xD) and ive never been to prom-Mainly because im in an all boy school-But I was a girl going to prom id get me and my friends to boycott Dresses and expensive hair does and go in Converse and 3 quarter lengths. But thats just me XDD
I've bought my prom ticket to go to prom this year. I'm not that excited about it compared to some of the other girls in my year but I want to go, if only just to say I've gone because it seems like a major event in school. The other girls are really worried about getting the same dress as someone else. Also, I'm actually looking forward to getting a nice dress and getting all done up, which is really unusal for me because I'm really not girly.
