So I turned on my Wii today and decided I would play a gamecube game. I went to turn on my remote and sure enough, it did come on..however it went straight off again after a few seconds. I stuck it back in the charger and waited a few minutes, until the blue light on it was flashing, and took it off and tried it again. Same results. It says that the battery level is full. Any ideas on what happened?
Have you tried re-syncing it by holding the red button in the SD area, and the battery area in the Wii-Remote? They occasionally become unsynced.
You can' t play Gamecube games with a Wii-mote (makes sense, it doesn' t have as much buttons), you have to plug a Gamecube pad into your Wii (there' s 4 Gamecube pad plugs on the Wii, hidden under a side pannel). Even having a classic controller plugged into your Wii-mote won' t do, the Wii-mote will be disabled as soon as you launch a Gamecube game. You also have to plug a Gamecube Memory Card if you want to save your game, you can' t save Gamecube files on your Wii.
Oh, ok, trying to play a Gamecube game with a Wii-mote makes it behave the way you described so I thought it might be your problem. Is your sensor bar ok then ?
Sometimes those rechargeable packs fail, I'd suggest trying regular AA batteries. When you turn the system on with the remote, do the blue lights on the remote itself flash?
No they do not. They only flash when I turn the remote on after leaving it in the charger for a few seconds, but it just goes off straight away.
