Pregnant Teenagers

There has been alot of fuss lately about pregnant teens ..with the whole Jamie Lynn Spears scandal [honestly i wasn't that suprised] and the movie Juno [ which has been out for awhile i know]

i am just wondering if any of you are okay with this..because honestly i'm not.i am a teenager and i think its stupid and cruel to the baby if you go and get yourself pregnant some where..

what do ou guys think about this?

 

I honestly think its the couples fault.If two people love each other,ok thats good.But if they go out and end up having a baby its their fault.They should have thought of the consequences of having sex at such a young age.The other thing that bugs me is when the guy starts to say its not their child.Thats just sad.

 

Funny you should bring this up, because my sister had her first child when she was sixteen. It is wrong to do that when you're in high school, but I have to stick up for my own sister. She's doing just fine...and she has four kids. Honestly, I think it depends on the person who has the baby. My sister is doing a great job with her kids and I don't exactly have a problem with it. I know two other girls, sophomores in my school, who had children. One of them gave it up for adoption, which was better for the baby, even though she's a good and nice person. The other has her fiancee by her side and they're handling it. Funny thing is, this girl called my sister a whore for having a baby in high school, when she did the exact same thing. Anyway, it really just depends on whether or not that person can handle it. I'm either way on it, accepting it for my sister, hating it for one of the sophomore girls.

Yes, I said stupid. There have always been, and there will always be, pregnant teens. Because there have have always been, and there always will be, teen sex, just like there there has always been, and will always be, teen marriage.

There's no problem with teen pregnancy, there really isn't, it's something that has been around forever and it'll remain that way, because teenagers are hormone crazed little sex fiends.

 

I think that it isn't right for teenagers to be getting pregnant... I mean, it isn't healthy for children to have parents that young, and teenagers shouldn't be getting pregnant at such a young age... In my opinion, I'm all against it... Most of the time, the child is left without a father, and that isn't good... And sometimes, the mother is irresponsible and doesn't know how to take care of a child...

That still doesn't make it an okay thing Cin. I do have to agree with you a little, because man this crap has been going on for a pretty long time. People will make stupid choices, just for the joy of having something. If you know what I mean. *Ahem* Shoot, I mean I can see when someone gets raped, that's really bad, and I hate for a person to get into that situation. That should defiantly be stopped. Though, this teen pregnancy thing where the two actually have no problem with it, is on them, and for the incoming gift that awaits them. They aren't stupid though, they know the risks, but choose to do it anyway. Yeah, it's really easy to say they're stupid for that choice. We would just have to hope that the baby has a good place to be after he comes out.

 

Depends. If you're a teenager and you are going to have sex willingly knowing that you're going to get pregnant, you're an idiot. Especially if you know that you won't be able to handle the baby. =/

I don't have anything wrong with getting pregnant at all. It is the circumstances that make up the pregnancy that I'm more interested in.

i think it's something circumstancial, i just think that as long as they can take care of their children then who cares? if not, then that's when you have a problem.

 

Well, I really don't care. As Cin said, it's always been around. Teenagers are basicaly sex machines. Some are smart enough to use condoms, others are responsible enough to care for a child, some just don't have sex while they are teenagers. It depends on the person. On one hand you could have a **** who has sex with tons of guys all the time and one of them gets her pregnant and doesnt want to deal with and niether does she. They could put it up for adoption and then there is also abortion. On the other hand you could have a couple who really care for eachother and the girl gets pregnant and they raise the baby together. It really depends on the person.

 

THE HECK!!! This is like the hundredth time I've heard of this!!! I heard it in news, books, almost everywhere!!! I say that it's their decision if they wanted to get pregnant soon or not. But if they were raped then that is a completely new story I'm talking about.

 

My sister got pregnant at 16 and her and her fiance are great parents =/
Just because some teens get pregnant, it doesn't automatically mean that they'll be a bad parent.

Yea, it's their decision to have sex and their decision to not use condoms.
And to some people I know, the reason they got pregnant is wrong.
I know some people who get pregnant just to get married(not my sis).

No matter what anyone does or says, teen pregnancy will still go on.

 

i actually read in a newspaper that some teenage girls trick boys into getting them pregnant just to marry them. they would either get them drunk or lie to them about birth control and bam, pregnant.

 

I agree that it is stupid to have a baby when you know it won't get the love they need.There was something on the sky news website that a 17 year old was pregnant and gave birth in the shower before school.She didn't want to tell anyone so she went to the hospital with the baby still attached to the umbilical cord!!!!!!
the one thing you have to take into account is that most of the time people use protection.What give me or you the right to tell anyone how to show there love to each other.We don't have the right to tell them.I agree about the baby thing but if two 15 year olds want to do it then we don't have the right to say NO.

 

Teen pregnancy is just wrong because most just have abortions and thats just wrong and If they decide to keep them they will just make the life of the child really hard.

I just wish they are more responsible for their actions

 

They're making stricter rules on obortion but that still won't stop people.
Plus if couples were put into the right situation. it will happen.Even
some of you posting that it is wrong would cave.
