[I'm not sure if this belongs here. Please feel free to move it.] We hear all the time about 'superhumans' and psychics, but are they real? I think so, to a basic degree. If you could be one of these people though, what 'power' would you have? List one 'realistic' ability i.e. Nimbleness and one 'non-realistic' ability, which can be anything from future sight to anime/FF7:AC style agility. My choices: Realistic : Persuasion (an incredibly intense glare would be great) Non-Realism : Stupidly fast agility. (see Cloud in Advent Children.)
If you were goin' to have a disussion whether people have abnormal powers such superhuman strenght or if they are psychics then this would be in Intelligent Discussion.
If you're asking what type of power people would have or want then it shouldn't be in the Intelligent Discussion.
Advanced humans. It'd be best to say that it'd be impossible. Sure they can test but having successful subjects... It's all the media in my opinion. Forcing influence and ideas. It's what people want to hear and they listen because they want to. I think that's why so many talk about this kind of subject. It's out of the ordinary in our/their ordinary lives. Ordinary lives meaning not having any super advanced humans, of course. But if I could choose a unrealistic ability, it would be to fly. With or without wings, whatever. Just to fly, and fly high, too. And a realistic one: that persuasion glare you suggested sounds like a great one to have too. But I think I'd pick intelligence.
I don't really believe in it. But I'm sure if people put their mind to something like mind reading maybe they can do it! I really can't say. Realistic: High jumping ability. [You can get a pretty nice high jump if you're strong enough from your legs] Non-Realistic: Be able to float about without the need to walk....ever. Lulz.

I used to think I was psychic. I'm past that now. But I still can't explain the psy-orb... As for powers: Same as Cin: omnilingual and telekinesis.
I think there may be a chance for some 'powers' mentally, sure we only use 5-10% of the potential of our brain so what if we uesd the other 90%? Realistic: Reading minds (maybe not a power but with technology maybe) Unrealistic: Heat vision
It kinda saddens me to see all kinds of people on tv who claim to have special powers. I don't know how, but I always feel like it's obvious that those people are all frauds. I don't really believe in super powers. I sometimes think that were all damned to live a life without any exciting powers, that having powers in real life is too good to be true. But if I think twice... what would happen to the world and everything on it if powers really do exist? What would happen if someone evil gains an immeasurable power and uses it to spread chaos and despair across the world? We would probably curse those wretched powers when such time comes. IF I had any powers, then it would be: Realistic: Lightning fast Reflexes (To scare the crap out of those annoying class mates of mine >:3) Unrealistic: About the same as Roxas had, but then to be able to control time completely (Damn you stupid mistakes from the past!!! Hmmm....makes me think about Prince of Persia...)
If humans became capable of using all of thier brains (which we can't) than perhaps we would develop telekinesis. Otherwise, supernatural powers would indicate some divine purpose.
