Lucky duck. I am terrible at labs. I just have a hard time being forced to work with people for school stuff. And it didn't help that my group didn't care for the instructions and left me to figure out everything. They're lucky that I wanted a good grade.

Personally, I say it's better to just take the class in person. I've never been good in online classes, and I feel it's better that with all that goes into Astronomy, it's better learn it in lecture form.

I feel like this is one of those things that's different for everyone. Some people learn better by listening to the teacher lecture, some people learn better by reading it.

Personally, I need to be physically doing the thing for me to remember it. I don't remember jack when the teacher is just talking at me.

I don't like any type of class either way, but I take online because it saves me a gallon of gas driving downtown for every day I'd have to. If I needed to do that even twice a week, I'd be filling up my car and losing a lot more gas money than I'd like.

And you were scared to check your grades. I'm proud.

A lot of people are going to either be butthurt that you consider this bad, or supportive by telling you not to be hard on yourself.

However, I firmly believe its people with a work ethic like this that will get far in life.

A'ight it's time for Story Time with Stardust gather round friends

(I'll spoiler it for those of you who do not want to be subjected to my life story)

In high school I wasn't a very good student lol, like I wasn't failing stuff or anything, I just put in the minimum amount of effort I could & if I managed at least a C then I was more or less satisfied. When I started my freshman year of college I made a personal promise to myself that I was going to work as hard as I could for my first semester and aim for A's. I felt like kind of a failure and I just wanted to prove to myself that if I really worked at it I could do better, just that one semester.

Sooo I worked my butt off, I was totally obsessed with my grades (apologies to my awesome roommate who was probably weirded out by my inability to have fun). Had straight A's, went into my film studies final and it wrecked me. It was a huuuuge multiple choice memorization test and I studied but I disliked the content and I guess had a hard time getting it to stick (I can't remember how I felt about the fairness of the questions anymore honestly, I just remember walking out feeling totally crushed). As I recall the final was worth nearly half my grade and I got like a C+ on it. My professor was nice and gave me an A- in the class, but it was kind of a bummer after all that work. I came out of it all feeling kinda ******, but my friends/family were really supportive and proud of me and honestly helped keep things in perspective. Like yeah, sometimes **** happens and you don't succeed the way you want to, but I learned what it meant to know what you want & throw all your weight behind achieving that. That's different for everyone, and the results will be different every time, but it's just what I've done with my grades ever since :v.
