Just in case people haven't seen that.

And yes, the bottom line is, it's spam. Posts that don't really contribute to a thread or are not on the topic/derail the topic of the thread are all considered spam. I've been going through both people's posts and threads in general, quite a bit was in the Intro section because of copy and pasted replies to many threads.
It's not like I didn't lose posts either, I know I lost at least 40, so no, I am not targeting anyone. Some of you just happened to spam more than others.

Plus both Fayt and Styx are right...I'm not exactly doing this for fun, it's incredibly time consuming.
And if you made it to prem on spam posts...well, that was your own decision, and losing it because of that is the consequence. Sorry.

...Uh...no I didn't. You can only see the last 500 posts you made. If I deleted everything before then, you'd have not many posts at all. So please stop saying I'm an evil dictator to everyone <3

thanks for the clear up but everyone seems to be moving away from what I originally asked: I posts that are spam should be deleted I can cope with the count drop, I wanted to know if people who have posts deleted can have a message or note that tells them what posts were deleted and a quick reason why. Thats ALL I asked....

i see were he is coming from if they do get a message it would stop repeat offenders and might help people learn what is considered spam this would lowers DP's time consuming job but then again the person that gives all the messages will have a even bigger job so this might not stop the time consuming thing after all lol sos

Mind if I add my 2 cents? ...I hope you don't delete it! XD Chill, I kid, I kid ;)

I think they are too many to keep a log and tell each member why they were deleted. I believe they know what they are doing, otherwise they would not be within the staff, right?
But if you think they are staff but they are not doing a good job, then that is another problem, which you could discuss in another topic. For as long as they are higher ranked, you cannot do otherwise but to trust them.
Personally, I do not mind having posts deleted, not that I have made as many as the premiums have. They are just posts, not friends :/

You want us to give an explanation for every single post that is deleted?
I've taken a leaf out of Wolfie's book and am cleaning out my sections too (beware old creativity zone regulars). You cannot honestly expect staff members to file a report on every single deleted spam post, there are just too many. Cleaner sections, no matter how old the content, lead to a cleaner, faster and more presentable forum.

This thread should be closed, enough explanations have been given and now you're just being fussy because your pride has been dented.

Take this as a chance to replace those old, spammy posts with worthwhile ones.

I agree with Juicy in this. Staff are doing their job, they are under no obligation to have to bend backwards because of our spam posts.

I'm sorry, but if it's spam then they will delete it. There's no need to give detailed info on how many, I feel this to be ridiculous since the case being discussed is spam.

Honestly I (or any other staff member) would not have the time to write you a note as to why your posts were deleted, or even spammed. If there's a thread in say...the KH section that isn't supposed to be there, I wouldn't have time to write EVERY person that posted in the thread an explanation on why their post count went down.
I've given you the definition of what spam is, so it's up to you to make sure you don't spam.
And remember that continuous spamming can result in a warning/infraction.

You've got the answer to your question, but if you have any further questions PM me.

As DPWolf said, there's no way staff has the time to go and send you a message because some spam was deleted. As courteous as you feel it would be, it just isn't feasible with the amount of spam people post in areas where posts count. We'd surely do it if it wasn't such a common issue. If you notice your posts go down, please make sure you read the rules for the general site and also some rules are posted in sections because those areas have some additional conditions. It will help you to understand why posts were deleted. If you still have questions, pm one of us.

I know some people can get upset at posts being deleted: Especially for those people that were premium and lost it. Staff members aren't so enthusiastic either about having to delete posts. Believe me, it's one of the downsides to the job because we don't really want to upset members. However, just as it is the responsibility of staff to delete spam from sections it doesn't belong, it is also your responsibility to make sure those posts that do count have some meat to them and mean something. Help us to not delete your posts by ensuring your posts belong and serve some merit to the thread you are responding in, in post count areas. Then no one gets mad or frustrated.
