This is something a friend posted on facebook, and since I like the games, I checked it out.

So okay I can't say anything on the adopted part, but since I'm fat should I be 'OMFG this game is offending me!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!' This guy is just being silly IMO, it should be the little girl feeling the rage not him, but she seems alright with it even if she 'didn't' hear it, I know of another adopted person who played this and wasn't bothered at all.

A video game character can be teased? OMG

Really at ESRB E10+ you have to expect some of this. If it was EC or just E they might have a minor case, but E10+? No.

And what do they expect to come of this? To have the entire back of the box listing all aspects of the game that someone might find even slightly offensive?

I'm just loling at this whole thing.
GLaDOS was MADE for hurtful sarcasm.
She is offending Chell, not you.
She still hates Chell for the whole murder issue...
And Valve is just trying to make the insults hit home in a laughable way, which for me it does.

What they clearly don't understand is that it is meant to poke fun not at the condition of being fat or adopted, but at people who believe those conditions are okay to make fun of. It baffles me that such a clear joke can't be seen. And besides, it's DARK comedy. It's bound to be offensive to somebody. The implications behind repulsion gel as a diet supplement is probably offensive to bulimics, why not hit on that?

EDIT: I'd also like to point out that if you click on video to go its page, it gives a video not found error page. Seems like they're trying to cover up an embarrassing news story.

This is one of the dumbest news stories I have seen. Since when was Portal an educational kids game? Last time I checked, murderous computers who tried killing you weren't allowed in kid's games. lol

The clip they showed of Wesley trying to insult Chell, they cut it off right before GLaDOS says 'What's wrong with being adopted?'. UGH, this whole thing is just ******ed.

*lolz* I'm actually surprised that there's such a reaction from a single joke made. Besides, this is PORTAL 2 we're talking about, who genuinely went in expecting something else?

E 10+ means you should be mature enough to deal with petty little insults. I've never played the game but i think the villain said that so it doesn't mean crap. Villains are mean. They say mean or stupid things. That's why their EVIL

And, as I mentioned before, there were many other moments that were far worse. What GLaDOS' "surprise?"
"I'll give you a hint. It involves two people who you haven't seen in a very, very, long time."
    And later:
"I made it all up. Surprise."
    Even later:
"Hello, you have have reached-We don't love you.-*Dial tone*"

This is just the media 8aying for 8lood in the usual fashion, 8uilding upon the sickening attitude of Political Correctness pervading the popul8ion. Really, there's no other explan8ion. They even cut off the second half of the joke.

Also, killing people is non-PC, so I expect that to 8e removed shortly. I don't want my children to go through the traumatic experience of killing someone, or worse, dying themselves. That just throws the question "What happens when you die?" right out into the living room.
