What is it with the third evolution of the starter Pokes of each game being hideously ugly. .___.

Anyone else disappointed that Vivilon is Pokemon #666 and not a ghost or dark type?

Got my copy of Y one day early, I know it's not much but it's something.
Any questions/screenshot requests? (I'm not very far in, just beat first gym)

Ditto this, same distance in, just got my Kanto starter. Starter with Froakie, now Frogadier, have the special Torchic, and a female Charmander.
First thing I notice is that you can choose to have your rivals nickname you for a change. Your dreams of being called "Loser" again can all come true.
Also Vivillion has like 4 different colours or more depending on where it evolves (I think), including grey, green, blue, and pink. Flabébé also has a few different colours, but they're all alterations to the flower rather than the Pokémon.

How do I download the Torchic? Also I thought it was only available on the 12th.
And I made my nickname Senpai, hilarity ensues.

I'm conflicted one which version to choose. On one hand X has the X Mega forms of Charizard & Mewtwo which I like better then their Y versions, however Y has Yveltal who I like way more then Xerneas. But I don't know what differences each version have.

    KHV, help me out. What else does each version have? I just can't decide what I want more! ;_;

Serebii has the exclusives for each version up. However, the Mega Stones are tradeable between games (some of the ones necessary for the X exclusive Pokemon are in Y and vice versa). At the moment, I'm not really sure if there are differences outside of that, there hasn't been too much on other little things in the leaks I've been following (have been keeping my but 100000 miles from story spoilers especially, lol).

Go to Mystery Gift > Via Internet and just accept it. It's been made available for us.

    Thank you, Plums.

Decisions, decisions... Damn it, why did the best Mega Forms for Charizard and Mewtwo have to be on the version lacking Yveltal?!

I thought they were hideous at first, too, but Im digging them right now. Seeing how the plot and the behind-the-scenes is working with X and Y, I can dig it.

Will someone agree with me that the Mega Heracross does not look great at all? I mean, come on, that thing is ridiculous. Actually, the Mega Pinsir isn't much better either. The Mega Alakazam made me smile though. Something about it just seems...sterotypical. Oh, and Aerodactyl's is somewhat amusing too, mainly because of the strange rock-beard they gave it

On second thought, they're not as fug as the previous gens. Delphox looks cool af. Actually, the general designs of the new Pokemon aren't as underwhelming as say gen IV & V.

So has anyone heard about the weird evolution methods for some of the pokemon in Kalos? Serebii just put this up, but you actually have to do some specific things to evolve some of them, like flipping your 3DS upside down, or another requires you to have a Dark type on your team. I am not kidding you when I say that. We have the normal Daytime, Friendship, and trading stuff, but a few of them have that specific weirdness, and I can't get over it. Good thing I'm not using those pokemon.

Whoa. That Inkay evo is definitely a strange one. Doubt anyone woulda clocked that without being told.

I only want a Sylveon from that list and the requirement is easy enough, so I'm happy. :)

I know right? Unless you bought the guide or looked it up, you would not have known that. It's like one day you just flip your 3DS over and you get your evolution and you just think "What the heck? How did I do that? What happened!?"

Just started this yesterday and I'm really excited. I'm really enjoying the 3D battle environments and the rollerblades (even if they're a little tricky to control).

Super-training is a really nice way to make EV training accessible to everyone and I really like the idea of it.

And ... yeah ... I can't wait to see how the game develops from here.

How hard are the blades? From what I've seen, either the person isn't that great at using them, or they really are just hard to use. Although it might also be from walking at angles now instead of just 4 directions.

And the EV training can be nice and fast now with that super training instead of trying to figure out who you can fight over and over

The rollerblades ... the game's still kinda built on a grid system like the previous games but the blades give you will 360 degree movement, so in places like route 3 (?) that is made of hedge mazes with 1 square space to go through them you can end up a tiny amount out of allignment with the space to go in it? And it's not like the bike where you can unequip them, they're always on if you move using the analogue stick. To get semi-traditional 8 directional movement you need to use the d-pad.

So that's my impression of it.

    They're cool, and I like them ... i just think they're a bit fiddly ...

In addition why wasn't it a bike? France, which Kalos is based on is FAMOUS for cycling!!

    You get a bike later.
