Tons of new info for all y'all today, as CoroCoro had a huge section covering it.
First up; Mewtwo has two Mega Formes; the already-revealed MegaMewtwo Y, and MegaMewtwo X.
    Garchomp can become MegaGarchomp.
Several new Pokémon were unveiled, including the two fossils that are Rock/Dragon and Rock/Ice this time (the former is a T-Rex, the latter appears to be a Brachiosaur of some kind)
Gender differences will be more prominent, even allowing for different movesets in some cases.
Lastly, the 2nd-stage evolutions of the starters have finally been shown. Here's Chespin's, Fennekin's, and Froakie's. Their final forms have yet to be shown.

why does the mega mewtwo have two different types of form that doesn't make any sense. mega garchomp looks cool but i'll still keep gabite from evolving. I like the fossils; they look pretty cool. and the evolution for the three starters look weird.

Mewtwo gets two Mega formes because Mewtwo is the Pokémon most connected to the idea of genes and DNA due to being a modified clone. Also because GameFreak wanted it to.
As for the three starters; they appear to just be the second stage evolutions, and in my experience the second stages of starters have always looked pretty weird. Which makes sense really, because they're usually the intermediate stage between the cute first form and the badass final form.

I saw the three secondary evolutions of the starter pokemon, and I'm not too much of a fan. They just seem so underwhelming for some reason. Hopefully the next evolution makes them look cooler. I've actually liked Combusken, Dewott, Quilava, and Grovyle. Oh well, guess we can't get everything. But the added addition to customizing that new pokemon is quite strange. They really want to get into the whole customizing stuff don't they?

Considering they evolve via Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y, I'm gonna speculate that it's game-specific which stone you get.

Out of the whole thing, the Fairy type weakness and strength was what I looked at with the most glee. Poison types may actually be used more to counter Fairies. Dragon rushing can now be avoided as well. I seriously hate someone starting with Dragonite and Outraging the first 3 Pokemon on your team. Fairy out and it won't hit. Might I add my Flareon is going to be replaced by Sylveon now.

As for the 2nd evolutions, Fennekin has lost its cuteness, Chespin got a lil chubby, and Froakie overall to me looks much better. I still cant say what will be my choice do to the final evolution still not being revealed. We can hope within the month they will reveal them, if not, we have a month til the game so not to much longer.

Also just glad they didn't drown us with Megas this time. Garchomp looks pretty nice, albeit, I thought it was strong enough without the mega. Mewtwo X is... interesting. I can see the appeal. The T rex though, ohoho, I want that little guy.

I'm going to go ahead and assume MegaMewtwo Y is the offensive Mega Evolution, while MegaMewtwo X is the defensive Mega Evolution. Just seems obvious from their appearances.

Yeah, I have to say, the 1st Evolutions of the Starters look kinda awkward, but then again, that's nothing new (like, in my opinion, Wartortle, Croconaw, Marshtomp, Combusken, Prinplup, Monferno, Grotle, and Pignite.) Though I do like Froakie's evolution. I'm confident their 2nd Evolutions will look awesome, as always.

Also, these are the new changes in the Type Effectiveness chart. (included Fairy's strength against Dragon just for convenience)

    OFFENSIVELY:
-Fairy is strong against Dragon, Dark, Fighting, not very effective against Steel, Poison, Fire,

    DEFENSIVELY:
-Fairy is resistant against Bug, Fighting Dark, weak against Poison, Steel, immune against Dragon
-Steel is no longer resistant against Dark, Ghost

Mega Mewtwo X further solidifies my already very solid decision to buy X and not Y. Mega Mewtwo Y looks like a fuckboy

Also, am I the only one that looks at the two of them and kind of see a gender difference between them? I know it's not a gender-based pokemon, but Mewtwo X seems more like a male and Mewtwo Y seems like a female. I just find the interesting.

Also, what's really cool is that the trainer customization has a lot more depth to it, since each town has a boutique you can guy clothes from, whether separately or in a bundle, and each pack is related to the theme of a city; so there won't be much overlapping in the merchandise. And when you finish up the customizing, you can check it out.

We also have a little bit more on Team Flare. There are 4 admins, and what seems to be the leader is a scientist named Xerosic.

There's a video, but it doesn't have too much new info, but it shows the 3 starters in their evolutions fighting, and a few extras, like showing some of the gender different pokemon and the fossils.

So the fire type became a Mahou Shoujo.. maybe it was always a psych type? Or it is fairy (new type, new starter).. didn't like any but the Water one (and it wasn't so good!).
About all these forms... Nintendo you don't want us achieving 100% on our pokedex ever? That pryorar is a LION there is a female version of it without it's "fur"

Um... that's a mane, and I don't know if you've ever seen real lions... but females don't have manes irl either. It's not really that much of a surprise.

So I haven't been paying much attention to the news of these new games (besides maybe that awful Mega Mewtwo Y and Tyrunt who is a Pokémon version of my favorite dinosaur) and I don't really know if this has been explained earlier in the thread and I don't have the time to look through 19 pages just to find one bit of information, so could someone explain to me the context around this "mega" form mechanic?

Also, I'm surprised they haven't came up with the idea of a Gym Leader who uses exclusively Fossil Pokémon. I want Pokémon John Hammond dammit!

Mega Evolution is a temporary battle-only boost triggered by a Mega Stone. It can grant temporary type changes, such as MegaMewtwo X being half Fighting, half Psychic. It disappears after battle, and is triggered at will, not automatically.

Interesting. I'm curious as to how they'll explain this in game.

I think it has to do with Genetics, since Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokemon, was the first revealed Mega.

I wonder what other kinds of pokemon will have mega evoulutions. Maybe they'll have a mega Infernape that would be cool.

There's no way of knowing what Team Flare will cook up (lol pun), but I wonder if, as the protag, you'll have to fight their Mega Evolved pokémon. Personally, I think it'd be an interesting twist to the usual "fight a grunt with basic, low level pokemanz."

Well they have Mega Charizard, Mega Blastoise (who looks the coolest of the three), Mega Venusaur. I'm going to make a theory and say most past gen Pokémon get a mega form. At least the entirety of Gen 1.

It would certainly be cool. Though I suspect that it will likely be Elite grunts that use Mega Pokémon, possibly as mini-bosses, if they are used by the Team.
