Nintendo Pokemon: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Not making a Mega patch for XY is so dumb. It pertty much makes XY irrelevant for the rest of this generation. This was one of my biggest concern for mega evolutions.

I don't care that much about trainer customization not returning. I think it will certainly return in the next game that's not a remake.

 

No customizing? that stinks but hey at least we get demo info

 

Details on how X/Y will interact with Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby.

I really hate that they're doing this, at least for battles. It's like they're trying to imply the games are separate generations almost.

 

I want to believe that they'll realize how horrible this is in the future and release a patch after all, but I doubt it. I feel like not doing so completely defeats the benefits of being able to release patches and update an already released game. It's just like... you can do these wonderful things but are choosing not to because... ???

It could be early remnants of the code and they may have been planning on making both games compatible Mega-Wise, but then (for whatever reason) opted out of a patch. Really curious why they would though.

 

this game feel like a trap that you can't return.

a possibility of not trading pokemons from x/y to or/as

needing to buy random pokemon stuff to get serial codes

why does hoenn screw with people?

 

Has Mega Steelix's type been revealed? Or is it just staying Steel/Ground? I ask because those crystals on its body are giving me a kind of Fairy vibe, which would mean that it loses one of its big weaknesses. Either way Mega Steelix is looking boss.

Time to start playing that Demo for a month and see if I can't get any good items to send over. Now the countdown begins

finished my 7th run of the demo now, and I'll just say, I'm glad about the change they did to the Ace Trainers. The last few generations had some pretty boring designs for them

 

I just heard a theory that the reason they're not making XY and ORAS battle compatible is to put a hold on all of the genned Pokemon in XY and prevent them from coming into ORAS (since they would be brought over from a previous generation, and Pokemon transferred from previous gens can't be transferred to ORAS). I don't know if this is a common theory, but this is the first time I've heard it. Thinking about it this way, I'm much more okay with the decision. Still kinda sucks, but it's comforting to know that it does have benefits and they're making efforts to make it harder for genned Pokemon to find their way into games, and in a sense, this could be interpreted as their stance on genned Pokemon, saying that it does violate the spirit of the games in some way.

 

is everyone going to use a hoenn pokemon team for the story? my hoenn team will be:

swampert
glalie
shiftry
altaria
torkoal
gabite(i know he's not hoenn but he is my main pokemon)

 

Only pokemon bred/caught in XY can be brought into ORAS through bank. So basically, if it was brought into XY through Transporter it can't be brought into ORAS. This is what I've heard from credible sources. I haven't bothered looking for a source itself, but it was apparently said in the information Nintendo gave about not releasing a patch.

 

Well, if you have pokemon black/white or black 2/white 2, you can send most of the pokemon to XY with those, and then just use pokemon bank to send it to ORAS. I keep most of my pokemon in the pokemon bank anyways

 

That's exactly what I'm saying you can't do.
Only Pokemon who were bred/caught in XY can be sent to ORAS.

 

I'm doubting that entirely. There'd be no point in transporter if you couldn't use it to get pokemon to ORAS. I'd get not sending pokemon from ORAS to XY, but not the other way around. Unless they let you catch 3/4 of the pokemon in Hoenn alone and the rest you use the GTS for

 

Genned pokemon are brought into Gen 6 through older games, so these measures are being put in place to prevent genned Pokemon from flooding ORAS. You can send pokemon from XY to ORAS, obviously, but not if they did not originate in XY. You can use Transporter to send to XY, breed one in XY, and then send to ORAS.
