The abilities are permanent for as long as they are on the field. And yeah, the normal Kyogre and Groudon were, but I mean these new versions are more ridiculous than the first

The abilities only last while Groudon/Kyogre are out. It's only really broken for Groudon; you'd have to be pretty dumb to be using Fire moves even on a normal Kyogre.

Lots of people are saying Primal Groudon's the more broken one, but let's not forget that Primal Kyogre can now do this:

    Yes I made that

water type no effect and weather no effect? and here people thought he'd have something like water absorb to counter kyogre.
    that's crazy.

If anyone here cares about the Global Link, it will be down for a few days before OR/AS releases in order to update for the games. The updated Global Link will allow you to upload pictures taken during Pokémon Contests, and will also track the most popular locations for Super Secret Bases.

In case no one checks serebii either, there were pre-release screenshots, and some of them showed Mt Chimney and what you'll be dealing with, as well as Tabitha and Matt in a battle together. So we might be getting an extended story with this game, or at the very least, stuff will be switched around, which I seriously hope so. Also, anyone remember an Aqua Admin Matt from the original game?

We're likely going to see elements of Emerald's story, just as we saw Crystal's storyline integrated into HeartGold/SoulSilver.

As for Primal Groudon: Flygon uses Earthquake. Charizard uses Earthquake. Gyarados uses Earthquake. BLAZIKEN uses Earthquake. Half the goddamn game uses Earthquake.

Parts of emerald, sure, but I'm also sure we're going to get something a bit new as well, since this is a remake with the 6th generation stuff, so the story is bound to be tweaked a bit

I personally feel as if OR/AS will focus more on Mega-Evolutions than X/Y.

Europe is getting two new OR/AS-themed 2DS systems, and they look great!

    Yes, they are indeed transparent!

The consoles will be available on their own in Europe on November 7, then with their respective game pre-installed on November 28.

The OR/AS demo is also coming to various parts of Europe beginning in October:
    • UK: From October 15 until launch, Amazon, Smyth Toys, ShopTo, and the Nintendo UK Official Store will be distributing demo codes to fans via their internal databases. GAME will distribute codes nationwide via Nintendo Zone. The codes will then also be made available through other partners, including Wikia, Bin Weevils, and Nintendo Life.
    • Netherlands: The demo will be available at a first-look event on October 11 and 12, or at their autumn tour.
    • Italy: The demo will be available in October through Topolino and Il Giornalino magazine, and in November through Focus Junior magazine. It will also be available during the Nintendolandia Tour in main Italian malls, during Milan Games week from October 24-26, and the Nintendo stand in G come Giocare at Fieramilanocity from November 21-23.
    • Belgium: The demo will be distributed at the F.A.C.T.S. Festival in Ghent on October 18-19, and at the Nintendo On Tour Mall Tour.
    • Portugal: The demo will be available at IBERANIME OPO 2014, Lisbon Comic-Con Games Week, FNAC, Media Markt, and El Corte Inglés, all from October 15.
    • Switzerland: Codes will be distributed at the Swiss Toy Fair from October 1-5, but can't be redeemed until October 15.
    • France: Demo codes will be distributed at Paris Games Week from October 29-November 2. Other forthcoming methods will begin running October 15.

You know, I've never been a fan of any handheld or game system that's transparent, and I'm not a fan of these either. Plus, it's a 2DS, excuse me while I keep my pre-order still on hold and wait for November

I think they look preeetty sweet (Sapphire edition >>>> c;). Don't think I've seen any transparent handhelds since the Gameboy Color.

Only 22 days until the demo heart eyes emoji

So for the first, they are releasing a Pokemon handheld Demo? Huh, never thought the hype over this remake would reach that level.

Australia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and South Africa are the next places confirmed to get the demo!
    • Australia: Codes will be distributed to select Club Nintendo members on October 15, then be made available to all via certain retailers on November 3.
    • Norway/Sweden/Denmark: Go to Sweden's official Nintendo website and register to receive a code. Once registered, you will receive a code on October 16.
    • South Africa: There will be codes for the first 1500 people at rAge Expo. Codes will also be given at BT Games, Toy Zone, Toys R Us, and AWX.
In addition to this news, a special livestream for the games has been announced! It will run on October 2 from 18:00 JST (10am in the UK, 5am on the US east coast, 2am on the west coast) to 01:00 JST. The stream will feature gameplay and new information.

Pokémon Get☆TV, a Japanese TV show, also promises new information on the games in their October 5 episode, including important information on Rayquaza. (mega confirmed)

When I went to buy Bravely Default, Gamestop sweet-talked me into preordering Alpha Sapphire. Honestly, I'm not that excited for these remakes; I always thought that Ruby and Sapphire didn't need a remake, but meh. I'm really excited about seeing Secret Bases return, Team Aqua and Magma, and some of my favorite Legendaries in the whole series. Primal versions is something I think the series really needs to expand, on top of that! I mean, we know Pokemon were different in ancient times and seeing some of the oldest Pokemon (i.e., Legendaries), specifically the ones that are meant to look prehistoric, acknowledge that is awesome. I'm glad Pokemon is moving towards more...variety than simply evolving, as it was initially.

The demo has been confirmed to come to South Korea! The demo can be downloaded from October 18 at various emart, Home plus, and LotteMart stores across South Korea.

Also a reminder that the special seven-hour livestream for the games is tomorrow from 18:00 JST (10am in the UK, 5am ET) to 01:00 JST! The stream will mostly be a playthrough of various aspects of the original Ruby and Sapphire, but the final hour of the stream (0:00 JST, 4pm in the UK, 11am ET) will reveal new and surprising information about the remakes.[DOUBLEPOST=1412262744][/DOUBLEPOST]MEGA RAYQUAZA CONFIRMED.

Does this mean we're getting an Emerald remake maybe? I hope so.
