    I honestly liked Emerald's way best, just because if felt like you got the best of both games in one. And I also liked that you took down both organizations, especially because they weren't really good for either one, and having one as an ally kind of felt strange. And i do admit that having Steven as a champion was way more fun, but they could make it you could fight Steven like you fight Cynthia in Black and White

    Do we know if BW/2 happened simultaneously with XY, or were they sequential?

    The only unfortunate thing is that Gen. 1 is now going to be the only generation not on a DS console. I can live without it, but it's one reason they might consider revisiting it again.

    Though honestly I'm still holding out faint hope for a "Pokemon World Tour" game with every region featured :x

    Well you know, if enough years pass, maybe they'll enhance gen 1 to 3DS or whatever's next just to keep the younger audience with them from the beginning. And you never know, they could always add something fun. In fact, maybe some day (in my wildest dreams maybe) we'll be a pokemon game that follows the plot of the awesome manga. Er, at least, the awesome manga that has all the memorable characters as they are. There are so many variations sometimes it's confusing. There's even 2 or 3 different types of generation IV manga that I can think of

    The Pokemon timeline is confusing. From canon facts stated in the game, we know that there's a three year gap between Gen I and Gen II. Gen III likely takes place at the same time as Gen I due to the trading mechanic between FR/LG and R/S/E, and HG/SS and D/P/Pt have that weird 'Sinjoh Ruins' area. I can't recall any in game answers as to Gens I & III and Gens II and IV happening at the same time as each other, but considering the definitive versions were released at the same time with trading capabilities, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

    BW/B2W2 and X/Y are god knows where on the timeline, and these remakes are ever muddier territory. It may be possible that OR/AS pull a B2W2 and does a timeskip (which I wouldn't be opposed to), which could help clean things up more. GameFreak really needs to put a timeline together, lol.

    I'VE BEEN HOPING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG. I love the idea of traveling through all the regions, starting over at each one and just enjoying the scale of things.

    Honestly, I never really paid attention to that kind of stuff in Pokemon.

    It's not like you have play one game to understand the other (except if we're talking B/W and B2/W2), because the games are generally stand-alone titles.

    BW has a Plasma grunt directly reference Teams Rocket, Aqua, Magma, and Galactic, so it's safe to say that BW/B2W2 take place after Gens I-IV. I dunno where Gen VI goes, though, as I sTILL DON'T HAVE A 3DS ;___;

    That's a good point!! I completely forgot about that, haha. I guess it probably takes place sometime around X/Y then (unless there was a Plasma reference in the latter that I also forgot about).

    So with all the stuff we've said, it sounds like:

    FRLG/RSE -> HGSS/DPPt -> BW -> B2W2 -> XY

    Now we just have to wait and see if ORAS are gonna be remakes or sequels to RSE...

    Personally Dengeki! Pikachu is my favorite of the adaptations, but I'd be cool with that either way.

    I just wanna start from my region of choice and go through all the league challenges in any order, and have the levels scale to mine. Maybe have a Team plot or two that span several regions. SO SIKK.

    This thread is talking about Pokemon... Timelines..... Why .

    Anywho, excited and can't wait to see footage. I expect trailers at E3 and a release this October. It'll be my chance to finally get a Ruby version and train up those guys I missed.

    Also... WHO ELSE IS CROSSING THEIR FINGERS FOR DEOXYS?

    Aww now I feel upset. They added most stuff together in HG/SS so you could buy one and get everything for the most part, but if these are just completely remakes of the original Ruby/Sapphire, that means we won't be getting the fun Battle Frontier or fighting both Magma and Aqua. For that matter, we won't be getting the fight the gym leaders with their better teams

    I'm pretty sure "full remakes" just means that they aren't sequels...

    I'll be surprised if the games aren't at E3, considering how hugely anticipated they are, and the fact that they're scheduled for a November (not October :P) release. SO PUMPED FOR FOOTAGE.

    Deoxys would be great, but given its event legendary status, unlikely. I can see a better case being made for Jirachi appearing in-game, what with the white rock outside the Mossdeep Space Center and the girl next to it who talks about Wish Tags...

    In other news, I can't wait to be able to send my Lv. 100 Swampert back to his home region, after so many years... ; u ; once i have a 3ds...

    So excited for this game. My first Pokemon game was Silver, but that was my brother's and he didn't let me play it too often. Emerald was the first one I had that was mine and not his, so I'm super pumped about this. Do you think we'll be able to get all three main legendaries, regardless of the version we buy?

    Alpha Sapphire Forever!!!

    Ask yourself this... for HG/SS What did they retain from Crystal version?

    As for Mega Evolutions, I'm not entirely certain if Groudon and Kyogre will have Megas. Xerneas and Yveltal didn't and the game's main focus was mega evolution. I don't see the need for Mega Evolution Legendaries when they are already in the Uber class and cant be used whatsoever for tournaments or in game battle competitions such as the battle frontier/ battle tower. I had the same feeling with Mega Mewtwo.

    My first was Crystal, but Emerald was the first one I really got into—not that I didn't get into Crystal, but my experience with Emerald was fuller and richer, I think. And I totally get what your saying about the whole sibling thing, because the first one I played was my brother's Yellow Version. XD

    I actually haven't decided which version I'm gonna get yet, but I am leaning towards Alpha Sapphire because it has Lotad as a version exclusive (or at least Sapphire did). Incidentally, that's not why I picked it for my avatar; that's just because it goes with my font theme. :P But I don't know about the legendaries. For sure we should be able to get the mascot and Rayquaza. You could get Lugia and Ho-Oh in HeartGold and SoulSilver, but then again, that was the case in the originals, too. I'm leaning towards "no" for Omega and Alpha, though, because you can't get both Groudon and Kyogre in the originals.

    Crystal only really added things to Gold and Silver; it didn't actually change the main plot with Team Rocket, but just added an extra plot with Suicune and Eusine. The remakes just took that from Crystal, then tweaked the plot a bit to make Lugia and Ho-Oh relevant. Emerald, on the other hand, actually changed the plot from Ruby and Sapphire.

    If Kyogre and Groudon don't get Megas, I don't know how else to explain their changed appearances on the boxart. But I do agree that perhaps legendaries aren't the best candidates for Megas, even if they do look pretty cool.

    I assume the story will be the same as it was for the original ruby and sapphire. If they made it the emerald story, then they could have just remade emerald instead and not have made two games. Some things from Emerald like the battle frontier will most likely be added which then leads me to believe a battle frontier will be put in Z version. Like HG/SS I can imagine a new part of the map will become available post game to catch gen 4 Legendaries.

    I don't really see what you all mean by them looking different. They look the same to me, just with higher detail...

    Not entirely true. Uber tier tournaments are a thing. (You should see the people who bring NUs to them, it's nuts.) That said, Groudon and Kyogre are both staples of the meta and have been since their induction, it'd be interesting to see what became of them if they got Megas.

    K... point proven, albeit it is just a darker tone and has a few more lines on its back. I'm not sure that's enough of a change to call in Mega...

    Before I forget... There is one thing about Ruby and Sapphire remakes that makes me even more pumped now that I remember.

    Interesting tidbit here.
    Credit to @Laplace for the find. Whether you trust this likely depends on your history with Serebii, but I think it's reason enough to believe something we already kinda suspected.
