I think in the original Gold I once beat Red's Pikachu with a lv50-odd Tauros

Not sure how I managed that one.

Then again I'm pretty sure I also beat Sabrina in Yellow with my Pikachu at lv30. I might actually be a Pokemon god.

Yep, you are. My friend had his Glaceon in SS before beating it

Infernape, Alakazam, and Staraptor are all fine; you don't really need to tweak them at this point. Floatzel is more gifted in the Physical attack category if I'm not mistaken, so replacing Surf with Waterfall would be a good idea once you're done with Victory Road. Charge boosts Electric moves, but your Luxray has only one, and the Special Defense boost might not be worth it at this point in the game. Instead, try Tutoring it Magnet Rise. I mean, it GIVES YOU LEVITATE WITHOUT GETTING RID OF YOUR CURRENT ABILITY. IT WILL HAVE NO WEAKNESSES FOR THE DURATION OF THE MOVE. USE IT. Tackle...obviously needs to go. Now. Since Luxray doesn't have a fantastic Level-up movepool, I'd go for a TM (or a Tutor move, since this is Platinum). Some good TMs might be Return, Iron Tail, or Strength (if you do choose Strength, you might want to take it off of Floatzel). Another alternative would be Tutoring it Superpower.

I wouldn't blame you, our usernames were closely identical.

On a separate note, why the hell does floatzel learn razor wind when it specializes physical moves? XD

Wait is Razor Wind Flying-type now? I thought it was always Normal. I know a couple 1st-gen moves got switched from Normal to Flying, but I didn't think that was one of 'em...

E: Oh, I was right. It's still Normal as of 5th gen. So it do nuttin' on dem lawn, bwoy. Also, the advantage to spending that extra turn is it's base 100 damage with extra crit chance. Still don't think it's worth it, I'm js.

EE: Also you should totes get Ice Punch on your Floatzel. Serebii says a Tutor can teach it in Platinum specifically.

Yeah, that sounds more useful, I'll probably look into that later.

Yes, good, I forgot about Ice Punch. If you don't want to use the one chance you have to teach that, however, you can take a Heart Scale to Pastoria City to have Floatzel relearn Ice Fang.

Think I'll do that due to not having enough blue shards for ice punch. XD

    My analysis:

Infernape is good. Maybe switch Feint with something like Brick Break or Thunder Punch.
Alakazam is good. Maybe give him Energy Ball for more coverage. Don't know what you'd replace.
Staraptor is...ok. Honchkrow would be a better choice in my opinion, with moves like Sucker Punch and Shadow Ball for more coverage.
Floatzel is good. Teach him Waterfall in place of Surf and Ice Fang in place of Strength.
Luxray is good. Teach him Discharge (goes with Charge) or Thunderbolt in place of Spark. Give him Magnet Rise instead of Tackle.

Just remember to try and diversify move sets. You want to be able to take advantage of any weaknesses that you find open.

EV training is always an option, considering D/P/PL are the easiest games to make lots of money, just go to the fields before the trophy garden and there will be a gentleman and his wife, battle them both with amulet coin and make insane amoints of money, use the vs seeker to help you.[DOUBLEPOST=1368418406][/DOUBLEPOST]after that buy the ev training items.

I am just one level away from discharge but do I really want to teach a special attack to a pokemon who specializes in physical moves?
Also is there a physical electric type better then spark besides wild charge or am I better off just giving it discharge?

Luxray's difference in ATK and SP. ATK is minimal enough that there isn't really a point. Thunderbolt and Discharge are both strong enough to make up the difference, though of course you'll be aiming at SP. DEF instead of DEF now.
Unfortunately, the best reliable Electric Physical attack, Thunder Punch, can't be taught to Luxray. Discharge or Thunderbolt are the way to go.

I'll probably just end up teaching it discharge. I've change some moves around and after I get all of my pokemon to lv 55 I'll take on the elite four, thanks for the help guys![DOUBLEPOST=1368476248][/DOUBLEPOST]Just beat the elite four and the champion, again thanks for the help!
I'll be sure to make another thread like this whenever I finally get to pokemon black. XD
