It reminds me of how in the basic RPG they do their combat ready bouncing. I also love how in the video when entei transforms you hear the hosts being "suprised". However I don't think I will truly appreciate the battle mechanics untill I get to play it.
    Dibs on grass starter.

    This^

I Like them better moving, although I do imagine it must be awful to animate 493+ Pokèmons

Yeah from those 3 the only one I like is the Grass type.

The movement looks very promising. However, it looks like the movement is just going to be up and down, and they won't actually animate with moves. I say this because when the fire starter does flamethrower, he doesn't seem to open his mouth. So it looks like when pokemon do moves that involve punching or other movement, it won't be animated, which is what I was really hoping for.
    Oh well, it's a start.

No, their arms also move some too. Maybe each moving part is a separate sprite?

The fan art has succeeded in allowing myself to prefer these starter Pokemon over Sinnoh's. I am now a convert, the Inquisition may now capture me.

There has also been speculation moving around as to the possibility of diagonal movement. The shape of Hiun City - or rather what we have seen of it, would be somewhat awkward to move around in with only four cardinal directions, I would say.

I don't think so. In the video the NPC's don't move diagonical to avoid the female character. They go straight-left/right-straight.

I like how some of them hold briefcases.

Perhaps this is done intentionally as to avert any unintentional feature leaking? Things in the game have been known to change quickly; for example, the building above the Pokemon Centre in Hiun has fluctuated between having the large screens and being devoid of them.

Really? Didn't notice that. But again diagonal movement doesn't seem likely, although thinking about it, PMD has this feature. Maybe they will do it in a similar way?

They weren't actually pointless, especially HG/SS. Sure, you don't like them but calling them pointless? No.

I wonder about the existence of vehicles. How (if) they will incorporate them in the world. That truck on the cycling road...

Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum aren't exactly remakes.
They're the third game in the generation.
Ever since yellow, a third game became expected of them.
Plus, they add a little more than just a new Pokemon.

@Mr. Brightside, I know, right? I mean, does no one have a car there? I always wondered about that.

Those are remakes. Just like Firered and leafgreen, but they have more added material than just better graphics.
They had some Crystal version features put in
They could link up to the DPP games
    The female character is replaced
And a lot more as seen here

    Same for the other remakes.

One may correct me if I am incorrect, but the third games - including Emerald with its Rayquaza, all held the same Pokemon as they had previously in the other two former games. Platinum would be considered an exception due to its lack of previous Pokemon.

That man is quite certainly doing it wrong.

In all seriousness, however, the most universally assumed speculative vehicle appears to be some sort of scooter device, especially due to a specific NPC sprite appearing to drive such a vehicle.

Whenever nintendo "remake" a game, they are doing two things.
    1. exploring features for future games, possibly enchancing the whole industry
    2. making the games more approachable for newcomers to the series
Yes, the third game of the series may seem unecessary however it is in a way a stepping stone to the features of the next generation - depending on the criticisms of the consumers, nintendo either continue developing that feature or they try something else.

You know what i really want to see how it will look like? Contests. I wonder if the moving sprites will have any kind of effect on it.

I'll still pick fire starter as always. So I guess I'm going with Flameboar.
    Smugleaf looks pretty cool also.
    I'm neutral on Flotter.

Are those the English names? Cause, I think whoever gives them English names needs firing if those are real.

I personally prefer the nicknames Boarbecue and Wotter.

Oh thank goodness, no. They are simple fan nicknames - if they were the true English names then I do believe we would have more conflicts around the world than there are current Pokemon battles.

To allow this post to be slightly more contributive I shall post a link to the currently-announced
    new attacks.

Claw Sharpen on a handful of other Pokemon could indeed make them slightly more dangerous.

Claw sharpen sounds awesome. These 5 pokemon don't seem too exciting, but at least they seem kind of creative.
Also, Penisotter is my official nickname for the water starter. Even after he's officially named, that's what I'm calling him. He has a penis on his chest, dammit.

It has a seashell for Pete's sake. Poor thing...

I think that Claw Sharpen will most likely work in a similar way to Rock polish.

@What?: They are fan names indeed but over at Serebii they already abuse those names and most of all the hideous "Smugleaf". Poor Tsutaja.

Smugleaf is an awesome name and it should be the English name for Smugleaf.
