Pokémon Generation 5: Games Revealed!

It is interesting to note how the routes shall once again begin with Route 1, not only signifying the cited fact of this region being quite a distance from the previous regions but also Game Freak's essential "restart" of the series.

I must say that out of the recent lines of antagonism in these generations, it is rather settling to see someone such as N and his motives. They capture the grandeur of the goal from Generation IV whilst making a bit more logical sense - we already have such nonsensical radicalism in reality, but even if it itself may be quite odd and irrational it is superior to the generic factor of Team Galactic, and are not as logically-challenged as the goals from Generation III. The more primary factor however is the believability of N's warped logic - perhaps attributing itself to a more social than scientific case, the latter of which caused a proper downfall of Team Magma/Aqua's absurd goals. Generation I and II, however, continue to beat this generation in motives that would be the most expected.

 

It's a nice reason to call the game black and white. Since it says he wants to split humans a pokemon black and white. A bit different than the other versions. I'm still wondering if the 2 legendary pokemon will have anything to do with his goals.

Also anyone noticing the plethora of psychic pokemon revealed.

 

I do wonder if now that the routes are reset back to one, all of the next generations, assuming there will be more which is most likely, will follow the routes according to Black/White. Of course if this will be the case then we would get more "far off" regions. I guess time will tell.

I am highly intrigued by Belle's character and the fact she's starting her journey against her father's wishes. that could make for good plot.

@Ace Phoenix: I noticed that as well! It's actually weird, we even getting a psychic/flying type and this far we only have a water type Pokemon.

 

I was expecting Gochiruzeru to be Dark given its apperance but I guess Psychic works as well. I'm really liking the story and characters this gen. Especially N's motive because they seem more interesting than some of the other team's motives that appeared in other games. I haven't been keeping up with the news all too much lately so has anything been said about any of the Gym Leaders yet? I'm really hoping that there will be a Dark type Gym Leader this gen.

 

i'm actually happy. In all the previous generations there has always been more water pokemon than others types. I was really unhappy at the fact that there were very few new fire types in the 4th gen.

There's some speculation that the weird building with a rollercoaster in it might be a dark gym or an electric gym. I just hope to god there isn't a rock gym. In all the games there has been a rock gym even if it isn't new.

 

Well maybe but we only have three this far (including the yet unknown evolutions of Mijumaru). As for fire types, yeah i can't even remember one aside from the Chimchar line.

Still not sure if it is a gym and not some sort of mini game.

I'm checking out all the Pokemon that have been revealed, and I love 'em. Actually just looking at everything in general, I'm floored. Triple Battles holy shyeeit <3 My Tyranitar be all like "EARTHQUAKE! DANCE, PANSIES"

But there's one balance change I'm really concerned about. I'm willing to bet it hasn't been addressed yet because "Urr Poklemons is for kids :B," but I want to know if anything's being done with Stealth Rock. I really hope so, because it's literally dominating the high-level play scene as it stands; Fire-types are pretty much not allowed in the OU tier because of it. No really, have a look at this excerpt from Magmortar's page on Smogon.

Teams that run Fire-types as their main sweepers are considered specialty teams. This needs to be fixed. Don't let me down, B&W.

 

Yeah i heard that stealth rock was really good. Course if you don't have wifi or any serious playing friends theres no use for it but still. I'm gonna be sad that there isn't gonna be any new evolutions of old pokemon. Gonna be just like 3rd gen.

EDIT: You can belive this as rumor or for real but still. I have a friend who always knows ahead of time certain things about games. Well he says that the story for Black and White is that N is using one of the legendaries to destroy the world and that we have to find the other legendary to stop it. So in black we would have to go find Reshiram to stop Zekrom and vice versa. He also says that they've been having problems with the game and might delay it and make it for 3DS only. I'm doubting what he said about the 3DS part and the destroying the world part but he says the 3rd legendary not revealed is suppose to make a new world. Kinda unoriginal a bit. Don't think this is actually what is gonna happen though. It's just what I've been told.

EDIT: Also the apparently there are gonna be new eevee evolutions. According to the newest update.

 

Wait what? There's no such thing mentioned in the CoroCoro scans. There's something like an event of some sort that depending on what you do you might get one of the eevelutions but that's just it.

Speaking of the Eeveelutions does anyone suspect that they'll incorporate a better way of getting the newest two (not counting any others that may be released at a date after this post) without the need for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum? Cause the only way to evolve them was through areas in those games right?
Considering that the image of Isshu has lots of forests and two icy-looking mountains, I think that they may just change the location for White and Black or since we have Wi-Fi they might not even bother. Same thing for the other location evolving Pokemon.

And what type would you think would be a new Eeveelution in this game (if any at all) from the information about Isshu (sp?)?
I'd like to see a Poison, Steel or Rock Eeveelution to be honest or maybe there's an item which may involve getting a black (possibly Ghost since they already have a Dark-type) or white (which could be for the Ice-type of a new Steel-type) coloured Eeveelution depending on the version.

EDIT: Also, looking at Isshu, it could possibly based on China but to a heavily shrunk down degree. I mean, in all the films you tend to see forests and wide open country side with mountains in the background but in documentaries about China's advancements it always shows this really modern city, which I constantly think is either Japan or America when I walk into a room or flick the channel onto it before I see anything that stands out as Chinese. Just a thought, nothing more xD

 

Is there more than six in D/P/PL? Though I must admit, a steel or ghost eeveelution would be fun to own.

 

There's Leafeon and Glacion which are evolved in Eternia Forest and Route 217, I think. Every other one is from Gen I and II.

 

Did anyone else noticed that huge trees in one of the forest pics? It looks weird.

Not of great importance but looking at the beginning of a battle (against N) i noticed that the poke balls are showed in a way similar to R/S/E. O.o Lame, i liked how they were in Platinum. GF always takes a few steps backs even if it is in minor things like this -___- Oh well...

 

Looks like the starters are getting specific moves. The fire one gets an attack called Nitro Charge.

 

Yeah, but i am more interested on Mijumaru's Shell blade move.

 

I'm more interested in their final forms. Ugh All i wanna know is the staters different stages, their typing, and what they look like. Then I will cease to learn anything else about the game to preserve the surprises for me.
