But why? What makes your beliefs so sacred that you can't acknowledge the possibility of others?

If they really meant something to you, though, wouldn't you celebrate their existence every day?

I used to be a christian and was raised to be a proper one but my parents let me down so much I ended up in hospital more than once because my mum failed to watch me in my youth and a car hit me. My mum left my dad twice and went with these jerks one of which pulled out this gromit thing from my ear nearly deafening me in my right ear the other gave me a black eye because I didn't like his pet rat. My old mates made up a story about my dad hitting him with a car. I got beat up after school and was found unconscious six hours later in the bushes by my school. We lost the house I spent almost 16 years of my life in because i was being harassed by my jerk of a neighbor and friends. Nothing but bad things have happened to me for years of my life that I became a atheist and now believe that there is little to no point in most religious beliefs such as the holidays and things. So because of that I feel I must stick by my beliefs rock hard because if i don't I fear all my sorrow and dark past will catch up to me and I'll break down beyond repair. I fear Oda will be lost forever if I don't stay strong on my beliefs.

So it's more of a defensive mechanism then?
It's good to have conviction, it's another thing entirely to approach everything as a single solution, out of fear that wavering will undo you.
Though, judging by what you've said, I can understand why your will is adamant as it is, hopefully things stay how they are and get better for you

Thank you but I also know so many people have dark stories some are way worse than mine but they still believe in these holidays so I won't try to change anyone as long as they don't try and change me that is all I ask.

But they aren't pointless, they're days where we put in extra effort to enjoy the existence of the people being celebrated.

I see them as point you don't that is all there is to it. As long as you believe they are not pointless then that is all that matters. I believe they are pointless so what more is there to discuss?
I have made it clear why I don't believe and why I won't believe what more can I say on this matter?
