Greetings and salutations. First of all I'd like to thank you for participating last month. There were a lot of enjoyable poems to read.

On to this month's winner then. First place goes to Fayt-Harkwind because his way of connecting the four elements was simply brilliant. It was amazing how could say so much with so few words. Kudos to you!

This month's contest is a little...different. There is no theme this time. Write about anything you please BUT your poem has to contain the words rope, wind and kingdom. All three of them. Next month we'll see how well you could work with this.

    Congrats Fayt.

I'm really intrigued with the decision to require specific words because it will garnish a new thought process and allow new themes. I think I just may try and enter something this month.

    I'm actually surprised I won.

Heres my bundle of gibberish for this time.

    Negative positivity

    Strung to the melody,
A river of ill thoughts flows.
    The corruptions rope together,
    and plumet down the falls,
while picked up by the wind.

    The heart shatters,
    a royal pain indeed.
A kingdom of heartache and sorrow.

Ying & Yang reposted from my DeviantART

    There is always a way
    to find it again,
it may be far, but it's not gone.
It's hides and comes back every now and then,
but sometimes it slowly fades away.
the people who follow it perish,
the people who avoid it fall apart.
but the other half of it is the part that kills the person.
they can not be without the other,
you can't be with the light,
your heart cannot be fully clean
you can't be with the dark,
cause your heart is always there to bring the light back.

Ying and Yang they call it.
    one half to another half.
    love and hate
    right and left
    wrong and right
    light and dark..

    everything needs it's other half,
if the other half is gone
the half you are with dies,

    so no matter what
if you think you have lost you light you havn't!

there is always light at the end of the tunnel
    find it
    let the darkness follow you
unless you choose your fate to be ugly

    Well done, Fayt ~

I look back on my life
    Past lies and deceit
    I remember my kingdom
The whole world at my feet

    I stand on my chair
    Rope loose around my throat
    Feet ready to kick back
    With Death I shall devote

    I've forgotten the world
All the trees and the skies
    The feel of the wind
    The sound a dove cries

    Lonely I die
I once sat on my throne
    Then the noose tightened
    Now remembered in stone

    Well done Fayt! [:

Once I held my head up high,
    Once the world was kind.
    Once this kingdom was mine,
Once I held a twinkle in my eye.

    Now I hold you close,
    Your heartbeat close to mine.
    I gave up my throne,
    For you,
    I gave up my shrine.

    I will give up anything,
For you, I know I will get roped along,
I will write you a sweet sonnet,
I shall sing you a harmonious song.

    No matter what we do,
We are in this to the end.
    Whether we be passionate lovers,
Or merely the best of friends.

I will always hold that love for you, my darling, my all.

'Kay, so here's my super deep poem.

    The King's New Toy

    The jolly old King
    Standing exposed
    Gazed at his slave
    In a provocative pose

    A well-strung rope
    Held the woman in place
    As the king imagined something
    Appearing on her face

    The wind at his back
Seemed to push him straight ahead
    As he landed on her
    The grass was their bed

    Yes, they were outside
The whole kingdom saw it all
    As their beloved, wrinkled ruler
    Let out a primal call

    It was not of anger
    Nor was it of pain
    No, this intense yell
Was because of... his lower veins

As he let out these noises
    These roars of great pleasure
    The people knew most definitely
That they would have to take drastic measures

    It was a miracle really
    Like a wizard's "Abra kadabra"
That the king's actions were halted
When the people took his Viagra

This is a very odd poem I made some time ago in school. I may as well enter it for a shot in the dark.

    The Navigator

    Behold the Navigator
    His airship of steel
The engines a blur at the turn of a wheel

    Behold the Navigator
    His rope of strong lead
Leading his crewmen ahead and ahead

    Behold the Navigator
    Empowering the wind
    His soaring spirit; never dimmed

    Behold the Navigator
    His kingdom adrift
Buffeted by winds; the currents as they shift

    Behold the Navigator
    His conquest of Fear
Of and itself, and what he holds dear

    Behold the Navigator
    And his final breath
Relinquishing himself to the embrace of Death

Well, let me figure this theme (or lack thereof) out, and I'll be right back with a poem. I'm actually going to put some thought into this one.

    Inside the Kingdom of Nightmares

    In the cold darkness,
    I feel nothing,
    In this kingdom of nightmares,
I feel a strange sense of peace,

    The door hangs open,
But I do not wish to escape,
There’s nothing that bounds me here,
Not even the ropes of my existence,

    The dark is comforting,
I feel no need to see the sun,
    I’m content sleeping here,
With the icy winds of nothingness never letting up,

    There may be a light,
    But I don’t need it,
You can keep you warm light of happiness,
    I’d rather know what living really is;

    ~The Winds of May

    The winds of May
    that dance around my kingdom
    The winds of everyday
that rope you closer to me to escape your boredom

    The winds of tomorrow
    show you sorrow
    The winds of today
that promise everything will be okay

    The winds of May
    dance around my kingdom
    and show you freedom.

    The lost ones
    They walk, they run.
They stop only to eat or sleep... their mission?
To get to the forbidden kingdom of course.
But they strayed from their path.
Curious at the peculiar creatures running away...
    They fiinally reached a wood.
    Completely lost.
    They run, they run.
They ride the wind but they cant find their way...
Their gory demise has not yet been reached yet nobody will know what became of them.
    Nobody but me...The only survivor.
We ran with the wind...Feeling scared...Lost in a dark wood.
The next thing I knew we were bound by ropes.
Robbers...Of course we had nothing to give so tey talked I managed to get free but the others had already been shot...I had to run away from th dead bodies of my only friends...
I still search for the kingdom of which we were headed but I hadn't the map...So thats how my friends became the lost ones...
Yet their ghosts appear every full moon and everything is merry...
Its like they never died sometimes...
But this is all just a childrens tale...
In the real story this is just the beginning...
    Anyway far ye well children.

    The Cold Rain
    The storm blows in
    The sky grows dark
    With cold rain
    The kindom fades
    As evil takes it away

    The the rope snaps
    As the wind blows hard
    All the souls fade away
    As the wind grows cold
    The window breaks
    As the wind slows

    The kingdom fades
As the clouds bring the darkness
    To take us away
The cold wind is't helping the fire

    As the Fire is raged
    The kindom fades away
    That means another wind blows
    As the last person knows
It will all start over agian
    Starting with that cold rain

    Smiling
    Subtly
    Like the sun
    On the snow

    The rope
    Entwined with
    Ribbons
    Tight on my
    Bare neck

    The chains
    Binding me
    To walls
    Of bones
    And ashes

    I love
    I lose
    I'd give her
    My world
    If only
    I had one
    To give

    And
    I love
    Like fresh fruits
    Picked from
    A strawberry vine
    Or
    A lemon tree

    Soft wind
    Blowing
    She dances
    I hear
    Singing
    Sweet
    Lullabyes
    Charms and
    More chains

    No love like this
    Can last
    Any longer
    I must
    Break
    The chains
    Cut
    The rope
    Free
    The kingdom
    Of my mind
    Of my soul
