The Sting ‘Freak!’ This… This pain… It hurts... Words have existed for thousands of years. They have commonly been used to express a dull dislike of someone, Or, at least, that’s what it seems like to those that words are not directed at… ‘***!’ Why can’t you… Feel it? The pain a word can cause is like a blade cutting your skin It’s a quick sting, but then it starts numbing as the wound begins to heal. After a time, the cuts have been so frequent that you don’t feel them anymore… ‘Homo!’ Can’t you understand… The pain I feel? The people that hurt you with their harsh words tend not to care that they are hurting you. A lot of the time, they hurt you because it helps calm their own insecurity. Sometimes, they do it to impress friends… ‘Queer!’ Please! Just… Stop… Why must we do this to others? The blade of the words, just won’t become dull It stays sharp forever ‘Please…’ The sting of words can and has killed And it needs to stop… yes, i know its a tad emo, but this is how i feel a lot of the time. its a poem that i wrote for school and its probably going to get published let me know what yall think
This is a good poem...although some of the sentences sound close to being story-structured, but otherwise, great job. It's very deep. :)
Like Nymph says, it sounds very story-esque. It was a bit strange and hard to understand what you were talking about at some points, but it is a great start and you did a good job with the subject you chose.
Hmm.. Maybe there's something everyone else sees that I don't? I understand it quite well. And its also kinda neat how each verse is slightly in a diamond shape. I really like it though, I can relate to it very well, except I was called different names, not those ones ^^;;
