So in Atlantica we meet Ariel for the first time and it takes place of a original story (not based on the movie) in KH. She knows Ursula is bad in KH but why in KH2 we see her go with her plan again (using the story of the movie)? Is this a plot hole? Is Ariel that forgetful?

I asked myself this until it hurt. i can't believe I didn't make a thread on it. I believe it to be a plot hole. The king remembers what he did, yet Ursula lives again. I doubt Maleficent wasted her time reviving her to.

Never thought of this but yeah I'd say it is. I guess they really wanted Atlantica to be in Kh2 and made it follow the movie storyline (seeing how the other worlds do too) and ignored what happened in kh1.

Oh wow I cannot believe I missed this...

Maybe Namine forgot to fix that memory and thus caused a plot hole? Lol

    They were the same?

Hm, all I could remember was one about the story and then KHII was like an opera of it...

Well even in the movie Ariel knew Ursula was bad. Though you would think it would be hard to convince her otherwise twice. I'm not quite sure I would call it a plot-hole but it does make Ariel look even more naive than she did originally.

Atlanta in KH2 is useless...there's no real point of it being a world anymore since it was already used before and finished but I guess they wanted to make it as a filler?

Oh and I hated doing those button combos to pass the song -_-

If that were true dont you think she would be dead and we would have to deal with her sister and play through the second movie's story? But that would bring up a bigger plot hole wouldn't it.
You do know you can finish KH2 without going to Atlantica right?

I always played it that Arial KNEW Ursular was bad but think, if a person even an evil person offered you all your dreams and you knew they had the power to do so... wouldn't you take the risk? Nothing ventured nothing gained at the end of the day

I think you're all forgetting the fact that Atlantica was completely optional in KH2. It's always possible that it wasn't canon, like the Cavern of Remembrance was in Final Mix.

Oh god. This is quite the problem, isn't it?

Well, I would bring up the issue of Castle Oblivion and everyone who had anything to do with Sora forgetting all about him and any escapades with him, but that's clearly not the case. I have no clue why she did it, though at first I thought it was just a way of playing out the story in a musical format.

    ._. Donald singing...gawd that world..

Ariel is naive in the movie, but she's like 16 and was caged her entire life. She be the rebellious teenager and Ursula is extremely convincing(I'd buy a car from her), all she had on her mind was Eric and King Triton wasn't going to help her get him, so the only choice she thought she had was Ursula. The game takes that naiveness out of hand with having her go to Ursula twice, it's not a plot hole so much as making Ariel look worse.

What I don't know is how Ursula came back...I guess we assume Maleficent, but there weren't any heartless. Just...singing...

Well it has been over a year between the two events, which may play a role. I mean that isn't all that long but it isn't like she did it again next week either.

Ursula's persuasion deals a lot with the strained relationship between Ariel and Triton, which wasn't exactly on the best of terms at the end of KH1 and then movie events of KH2 wasn't much better. It wasn't written with her having a level head here.

And the second plot doesn't involve actively going against her father like in KH1, it is just a magical version of running away from home really that then gets her wound up in a contract she didn't read.

Like I said in my last post, falling into the same general trap twice does make her come off as quite a bit more naive than she should, but I'm not thinking this really deserves to be called a plot-hole. There is nothing contradictory here, only a character acting stupid.

I don't know about you guys, but I hated Atlantica enough to where I didn't give two shits about the story, just getting past the world so I could do more fun worlds.

Ok, then what about Ursula being killed in KH1 and then being "resurrected" in KH2?

I don't feel like Ursula was killed. Even back in KH1 I felt more like she was trapped out in the open sea (where you fought her). Though sometimes with G rated stuff it is just straight up impossible to tell if someone actually died or not. Doubly so when magic is involved.

I suppose. I guess when I played it and finished her, I just took it as a "Disney" move to show her dead. But I do confirm her dead in KH2 for sure.
