Wouldn't making the system more like a PC Make it easier for people to emulate/Pirate the system (This coming from a pirate)?

PS3 is to powerful to be emulated on modern day public computers.
    So cross that out.

PS3 security system is practically unbeatable, its been out for about 3 years and there has been absolutely no progress in pirating a ps3 game.

And no, making it more like a PC wouldn't make piracy easier, as long as they still stick to security measures (which they will). it will be in the same place it is today.

On another note, im glad they are ditching it.
Its the main reason ps3 devs complain.

2012 release?! Jeez... only 2 years away? I do feel like i've been slightly cheated for paying £300 for the console now (I bought it 3 days before the announcement for the £60 price reduction was told...what a waste)
Still I adore the the thing.

The greater capabilities should make things much smoother. Crossing my fingers anyway.

Oh well, if it helps developers like Valve then I don't mind. It's just that games like Uncharted 2 use the Cell and we've seen how magnificent it is with it, that's something the 360 couldn't do so I'm wondering if the same technology used in Uncharted 2 could be implanted without the Cell.

Everybody in here seem to forget that Sony have a 10-year plan for the ps3 and it hasn't been 10 years yet. They have no reason to release a new console this early when the ps3 is still so powerful and is just now starting to pick up pace.

This. The developers would not be too happy to find out there's a new console on the way within a few years now that they are beginning to make better use of the PS3's power.

I don't want to hear any news of a PS4 for at least 3 years. xD

Yet another machine my brother will want to own leaving his precious PS3 to one of his two younger siblings (Last time it was me (PS2), but I'm not fond of the PS3). Then he will exploit my laptop and the internet and connect it to the internet and do whatever you do. This is gonna suck anyway I look at it. I think it's too soon to release a new playstation. The PS3 is still popular.
